I was just over the cutoff line to join mensa at 130. You would qualify with room to spare. So if youre going by IQ numbers I would be a knuckle dragging chimp compared to you. I think you have a lot more common sense than I do. If people here interacted with me IRL they'd have a puzzled look, and ... |

I am sorta like that. A member of mensa. Good with book smarts, but weaker on practical day to day stuff. Though not totally helpless. Am an aspie. But dont have the other comorbids you have. It was only a few years that my father told me that tests being used in San Francisco in the mid 1960s plac... |

Way back My first school in Bangkok urged my parents to get me tested as they thought I might have what we now call cerebral palsy. That was c1962/1963. I was 5/6 years old. The assessment at Great Ormond street showed that I wasn't. Possible alternatives weren't explored. Even before the onset of S... |

I wouldn't say my father was/is ultra rich. He had a fairly good career working for the Foreign office. Good enough to warrant a 'Who's who' entry. Retired as the diplomatic equivalent of a 2 star general. Compared to most I had a privileged upbringing. |

co-morbidity? I have asd but did farily well on exams. If that type of cognition is what you mean? I'm an autistic + sz/sz-a person. I blew hot and cold when it came to exams. Based on what my father told me,a few years I underperformed significantly at school. What I'm talking about is the practic... |

From as far back as I can remember I've been the cognitive equivalent of the person that bats >.310 in the minor league but <.230 in the major league. Is it due more to the ASD or the schizophrenia/schizoaffective? I'm not at all sure. |

My brother went to school in San Francisco for a few years. One day he did the 'I pledge allegiance...' thing in front of my parents in a decidedly American accent. My father wasn't having any of that. My brother would've started at prep school when he was 8,like I did,but instead started there at 7... |

Autism is so heterogeneous some 20% is caused by different genes so even by those facts it’s obvious there are more than one autism. So the diagnosis of autism is just a temporary label that will one day be scrapped in favor of a more appropriate sub group As an ASD/Asperger's person with schizophr... |

I'm 65 and I've had only one serious adult relationship. That was with my wife. Since she died in 2005 there's been no one. I don't blame that on anyone else. I could reasonably be described as 'socially inept'. That's not the fault of women, other men , or indeed myself. It's just the way things hav... |

^ I didn't think of it like that. That doesn't mean you've addressed things incorrectly. |

Is it possible to have what I would call, for want of a better phrase, 'micro zone outs'? A possible alternative would be 'micro absence seizures'. It 's a briefer but more frequently occurring version of an absence seizure. I've noticed with the human benchmark reaction time test I'll get what I wou... |
