Unions are needed but there needs a sensible balance. When unionism becomes too strong, one ends up in a communistic dictatorship. At the opposite end we have capitalism where if taken to the extremes will treat workers like slaves while trying to maxemize their profits when they have more profits ...

They brought the UK to its knees in the past. They're like that annoying employee who asks for another pay rise a week after being given a pay rise. I was speaking to some older tradesmen in work about their time in work when the unions were at their height. Apparently they used to go out on strike ...

Just a quick note on the Nordic countries; many of the have enormous oil wealth, and that has allowed them to prop up generous social welfare programs despite otherwise lackluster economies. Make of that what you will. I heard Norway has a sizable state owned oil money. They're not countries that c...

That's similar to what working class people feel here too. There was a good Youtube video on it that I watched a couple of years ago. The working class here are often divided geographically as much as financially. There also seems to be growing distain against the working class in the UK by the met...

Depends on how well you grow a beard and stubble. If you grow it well then might as well flaunt it. I seem to grow a beard and stubble very well so I usually grow it well short of a beard but certainly coarse stubble. It goes well with my weirdly angular jawline that appeared out of nowhere in my ea...

Right wing parties are rapidly gaining ground in Sweden. The Swedish friend I speak to hates the high levels of tax and nauseating identity politics and pandering to immigrants. This seems to be mirrored across all of Sweden if the votes are anything to go by. I'm unaware of what inequality is like...

A country with high per head productivity which is also very large should is just powerful, not an empire. Seeing you put American Empire in quotations I assume you understand it's just a phrase used to describe the above. With the rise of India in particular they might get upstaged but it will neve...

I straight up don't believe this, if only because no one admits to that short of straight forward prejudice these days. Let's be honest, not many people know enough about Jewish people anyway. Everyone in my place of work never mentions them yet alone reach a conclusion that they're too powerful. T...

I think the Nordic economies and politics are ill thought out. People are tiring of them as it's increasingly dominated by identity politics and race. It's a political philosophy that's very vulnerable to being taken advantage of. Push over politics so to speak and people date speak out about it. T...

Once upon a time, back when there were guilds of bakers and guilds of coopers, etc., the cost of something was based on the actual cost of producing that item, plus a sort of set idea about what labor was worth. In other words, the cost to another person of something was closely related to the cost...

I think even when the government equalises everybody by law, individuals will always differ. With the same income for example, some might be a lot more prone to saving money than others.

Inequality will always be the natural outcome of humans being human.

You don’t get “sexual experience,” usually, by seeing a sex worker. Sex workers usually don’t feel it worth their while to “teach” those with relatively little experience. Probably true of most, but perhaps some might specialize in teaching newbies. I'm not sure whether that particular specialty ex...

Worst part is the second bomb was dropped expirimenetally to see what would happen. Even dropping the first one was extreme but people felt it was nessisary...dropping the second one was not even seen as necessary but they still dropped it. Idk I feel it is one of the most disgusting things this co...

Rape of Berlin? I dunno. It's just a city compared to an entire country. It wasn't just Berlin. German women were considered free game everywhere the Red Army reached. The events described in the quote from The Gulag Archipelago took place when the army was around Brodnica . Soviet army rapes and l...
