I’ve been so much happier since I gave up trying to go to parties, even to family get togethers. :D

For men, the dating pool gets larger as they age. Lots of widows but men in comparable position are fewer and want someone much younger. I decided to take myself out of the mating game at 45 or so. Toward the latter part of the 40s, someone fell into my life out of nowhere. The world is full of unpr...

I have a lot of trouble with anxiety. And when lots of things get off track, as seems to be happening to you right now. In the US, most schools have the summer off, and a big break at Christmas. I know things are different in the UK and it may be difficult to even get another counselor. Big hugs. Wh...

I live where hurricanes are serious danger. It only makes sense to have fresh water, food, batteries, medications, etc, on hand.

When Hurricane Andrew hit Homestead/Miami, whole neighborhoods were flattened. I believe there was a lot of looting. Looters and homeowners all had weapons.

Oh, yes. I can make a list but they all seem to be high priority. All the tasks spin around in my brain clamoring for attention. Sometimes I just go back to bed and put my head under the covers. Sometimes I pick just one task and tell all the others to shut up. I can get that one task done and feel ...

I used to be married to a mathematician and he had mathematician friends. These are people with PhDs and doing research into the upper atmosphere of theoretic mathematics. We were sitting around after dinner one day and they started talking about a graduate student who was present. One of them insis...

I work with children and adults with severe autism. Like the ones in the video. And ones who are much, much worse than what you saw there. I find it difficult on WP to listen to these threads. Anyone who can participate in this forum is as different from my clients as night from day. I can tell you ...

Medical THC is now legal in my state, but you have to register with the government to get it and I don't really want to do that. Especially because it is still schedule 1 federally. I can just see the feds rounding up everyone who is registered. And with my luck, that would include me. I'd be the t...

Carlos said Many autistic kids have complex mitochondrial and auto immune problems that I don’t see fixed by interaction. Carlos, I apologize for hijacking your thread, but I have never before heard that complex mitochondrial and auto-immune problems went along with autism. Can you give any referenc...

Parents of severely autistic children will do literally anything to find a cure or at least reduce the more destructive symptoms. This is just my experience. This makes parents ripe for exploitation. Unfortunately it also makes the child an experimental subject. I know lots of autistic children who ...

Many of my clients fall into this category. Some of the reasons for not making all those well-child check-ups include: not having a car, working too many jobs, the difficulty in getting appointments for doctors who accept Medicaid, parent is also disabled in some way. If your child is doing well and...
