Both commemorating historic disasters and celebrating victories have their place. Hanukkah and Purim are holidays that celebrate victories. You can't say "both Hannukah and Holocaust Remembrance has their place". You have to keep in mind: Hannukah is ancient holiday, Holocaust Remembrance...

Arts are something relatively few people can make a living at, so I would hesitate to recommend that GrandInquisitor major in arts, but perhaps taking a few arts courses might be a good idea?

I don't even know what my interests are, it's mainly ships (which I understand is probably the most boring thing ever for other 14 year olds), .... For most other 14 year olds, but probably not all . If you look hard enough, you might be able to find (most likely online) some teen-age kids who shar...

I could, but part-timers don't get any financial support from the government or reduced bus fares. It'd also mean it'd take me 6 years to complete my degree as opposed to 3. Do you also have a job? If so, I hope it's not a full-time job, or at least that you'll be allowed to work only part-time whi...

I'll be looking at starting assignments early rather than leaving them to the last minute. Good idea. Another suggestion: BEFORE the semester begins, use online resources to begin studying, independently, the subject matter of whichever of your courses you expect will be the most challenging. What ...

So basically, how do I make friends? Ones that don't like Tiktok and that don't ignore my texts and requests to hang out.

What are your hobbies/interests, if any? (This might help us help you figure out how to find potential friends who share your interests.)

As for my job situation, I went to part time and went back to uni to start studying IT. That didn't go well and now I have an important decision to make. If you ever decide again to go back to school, I strongly recommend that you first spend some time preparing via free or low-cost online resource...

Question: How do you define "evil"? To most people (other than the more authoritarian Christians), something can be "evil" only if it causes actual harm. Usually, "evil" means intentionally causing actual harm. To the more authoritarian Christians, on the other hand, &q...

I used to feel like that. I used to argue with women who told me not to ask guys out or force things. "It'll just happen" they said. Then my moves paid off and someone bit... He really liked my friend and eventually dumped me and married her. How long a period of time was this "event...

I've found that if women have to make the first move it's because the man isn't really interested. He might say yes, but it's because you're a stop gap until he find what he really wants, then he'll magically develop the ability to go for what he wants and drop you like a hot potato. There's a deep...

Women and men would be both equally free and equally likely to make the first move. I never liked the idea of being constrained to a passive role. And I'm sure there are plenty o...
