Those of you who attended therapy, what actions or statements on your therapist's part made you realize that he/she wasn't on your side? This is especially important for people doing therapy as minors, as therapists almost unanimously favor parents. In my case, it was this. About a year into my ther...

-she has a lack of interest in sex... -mind blindness. she often tells me obvious things like telling me how to drive, how to cook etc. It's insulting but I don't say anything because then she'll shut down and feel "criticized". -daily lack of mental engagement. either talks and talks lik...

A mass-scale social experiment has already been done: Biden-19. The minute it got made in the lab, everybody and their brother fell for it, and bought into the "the sky is falling!" mass hysteria. Like the global warming, but much more immediate and much more intense. Quickly, people isola...

So what's the deal with the abuse from your therapist? Was he/she gaslighting you or something? 100% correct! My entire family, nuclear and extended, was emotionally abusing me. And my bullies were, well... being themselves. But my therapist was on their side, and tried to gaslight me into thinking...

The person in question was certainly a narcissist, such a user, and trying to control me. Well, OK, I'd buy that - sounds similar to a couple of MY experiences 8O Unfortunately, that's a classic dirty trick in the narcissist's toolbox, which I believe is called triangulation . Not much you can say ...

I had a Friendsgiving only once, in 2020. That year, my state's governor declared holiday gathering illegal. Luck for me, I had already met my QAnon friends, so we had out own illegal Friendsgiving. The host took charge of the turkey, the guests took charge of whatever was delegated to them. Very ea...

When cycling I did used to park my bike next to a mostly empty children’s playground. Even that can look dodgy since there is a lot of paranoia about pedophiles etc…. You said "mostly" empty playground, which means there were at least a few kids. If you're that concerned, don't stop in fr...

It depends a lot on where in the park you hang out alone. Next to a playground where there are children playing? Definitely not! Next to an empty playground? A gray area; you can sit and rest briefly, but sitting all day is a no-no. Next to a hiking/walking trail? Absolutely OK. (Although it looks b...

Can you not invite some of these men that you talk to over to meet in person? If they get a hint it'll only stay as an online chat they'll eventually lose interest. Agreed! There's nothing men despise more than women who string them along with promises of a date, but instead use them as online pen ...

When asked about what I thought about the story, I said that I disliked it and that I wondered how the rainbow fish managed to remove its scales. I could suspend my disbelief enough to accept talking fish, but the scales puzzled me. Further, I asked if the rainbow fish would still be known as the r...

I've seen a few posts about persuading one's significant other to see a doctor. If you're trying to do that, perhaps your SO might be convinced by reading my hospital threads. All of them detail very positive experiences I had at my local hospital. Where do you live? There's kinda a monopoly on the...

A therapist is someone you are paying to help you with understanding the relationship between what is happening inside you and what is happening in your outer life in the world. Feeling that the therapist is an authority figure rather than a helper is going to skew the results that are possible. Th...

While I don't know what women want from men, what I want from women is to JUST BE LEFT ALONE!! ! That is, I don't want a woman heckling me to see a doctor because she "cares about me". I don't want a woman berating me for eating a bacon cheeseburger because she "cares ab...

Well he just seemed embarresed when i showed him the picture of her. Possibly, he thought she was below your league, got vicariously embarrassed, and rudely verbalized it. He shouldn't have done that. He should have at least reacted neutrally to the picture, like "she looks nice". With th...

Trying to do therapy with the idea that you are expected to do certain things and not others is not really engaging with the therapy. A therapist can only help if a client is willing to work with themselves. Having an antagonistic relationship with the therapist is just a non starter. I would sugge...
