If youcan afford it, I would highly recommend a car with a rear-view camera. I would not be able to reverse into parking spots or parallel park as easily as I can without one. Also, while professional instructors can be helpful, most of them couldn’t recognize neurodiversity if someone hit them over...

From what I’ve seen, the only Autistics who don’t have difficulty meeting other Autistics are those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, due in part to the infrastructure already in place, from college/university clubs to gay bars/nightclubs, for LGBTQ+ folks to meet each other, and in part due to ...

OP, I’m four years older than you and have also never been on a date. I have a bachelor’s degree, (admittedly low-paying) job, and driver’s license. I do still live with my parents though. You’re still young yet, while I’m starting to feel like I’m running out of time before I will no longer get to ...

This thread encapsulates perfectly how I feel about this subject. I’m the same age as the OP, and have never had a serious relationship. I would rather be with a fellow Autistic than a NT, since I feel like I’d be able to be myself more with a fellow Autistic. I don’t even know if being in a relatio...

Just look up Karen freakout videos. They are the prefect examples of NTs (though some may fit the criteria for narcissism or sociopathy) who lack social graces.

I feel like a lot of these types of groups (or at least the ones I know of) tend to have an older average age, which is not what I’m looking for as someone in his mid-twenties. And these older folks grew up in a time where the job market was less competitive, housing was more affordable, and going t...

I bet the two judges who voted to overturn the ban are Trump/Bush appointees The Senior Circuit Judge who wrote the opinion is David Santelle who was appointed by Reagan. He was joined in the majority by Circut Judge Gregory Katsas a Trump appointee. Dissenting was Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan who wa...

It’s possible, but rare. All but one of my school bullies were NT. I think if an Autistic is overstimulated/overwhelmed enough, they could turn into a bully just to try to get the offending stimuli away from them, though there are those of us who are just plain a**es, just like with any given group ...

I’m in a very similar situation to your stepson, so I can really empathize with his situation. Most major cities have one or more autistic social groups nowadays, which can be found by a quick web search. If you live in or near the District of Columbia, I know of a couple groups I could point you an...

I’m not from Hawaii, but have been there many times, mostly to Oahu but also Maui (more specifically Hana) a few times and Kauai and the Big Island once each. I love it there!
