I think whether it is better, or not, to receive an Autism Diagnosis can vary from individual to individual. Someone needing medical intervention or formal accommodations needs a formal diagnosis. I have cardiac issues but the cardiologists say the one that required surgery was congenital...and it may have caused other issues. Do you get a gold certificate with a diagnosis? I didn't get any kind of certificate. :( I wish I had! Even a paper certificate would've been nice. As it is all I got was a twelve-page "Psychological Evaluation" that contains enough personal information that I would prefer not... |
