Online is great for a lot of things and absolutely lousy for others. I also hate not being able to speak to a human when I need more information. That said I'm often not great on phone calls either. I do find a lot of websites are just too busy. My mind can't process all the information to sort out ... |

People can be miserable! I try to take such labels as badges of honour or compliments. It no longer matters much to me what others think. What I think is what matters to me. I love my obsessions! Life would be totally not worth living without them. I tend to think that someone judging, says more abo... |

As a male I have always had more female friends. Im not sure about this being an exclusively autism thing though. I have taken part is several men's groups with plainly NT males. (Though being in that sort of group probably indicates being more sensitive than most). It is a common thing, according t... |

I found some relief from depression with st Johns wort. That's just an anecdote. Could just as easily have been a placebo effect. Or a combination of placebo and a chemical effect. Impossible to tell with study with a cohort of one! Another option I found useful was 5HTP. The same caveats apply as a... |

I think we have a huge problem getting enough people behind anything worthwhile. With the current media and social media landscape there is so much information from so many sources. Many of whom are just lone egos desperately feeding their need for attention while deluding themselves they have somet... |

Well done man!! I'm in a similar kind of relationship with healthcare where I am. I have realised I don't speak the same reality as medical people. And that's Ok! I have also got off meds over the last few years. I have learnt other ways of dealing with things. Yes, I self medicate occasionally. It'... |

Oh dear! The climate change drama! Unfortunately for those who like to spout their knowledge of the worlds ancient history like they know everything, climate change is real and it's comin' fo yo ass! We humans can rationalize anything. If you can't see that the way humans behave in their environment... |

Oh, and for goldfish21, I've spent far far too much time in the hyperspatial plenum conversing with the elves/clowns/entities and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to save us. More likely to get us believing is all sorts of crazy sh*t that is completely useless and then laugh themselves sic... |

Things are desperate. Always have been. Survival is always hit and miss. There are so many things we can't control. We do what we can. The apocalypse is just a metaphor for the death that is coming for us all and which we also have no control over. The universe is utterly meaningless aside from the ... |

What an interesting thread! Thank you everyone. I am an aspie with an aspie mother and probably an aspie father. My dad died twenty something years ago and it's hard to remember enough to see truly whether he was or not. I am leaning further towards yes. Since my discovery of my own autism, I can cl... |

I'm getting better at dealing with feelings of regret. I certainly wouldn't want to go back and do it all again! One lifetime of torture is enough thanks! Changing the past would result in a different me and that could just as easily turn out worse. I have worked long and hard for the understanding ... |

I do so love that feeling of edging myself higher and higher until I'm flying!
As a child I realised I could "change the story" of nightmares. Somehow I could ease sideways into a non scary dream. Not all the time but often.
Sometimes I have similar things now. But mostly not. |
