FYI I'm going to stop posting on this thread as it seems that my attempts at getting acknowledgement of wrongdoing by a person in a position of power have been recognised in a meaningful way, so the issue is resolved as far as I am concerned. |

I read the post. It's not offensive - it's simply wrong. The two are very different things. Being wrong is allowed on WrongPlanet and when moderators post personal opinions, they are allowed to be wrong just like everybody else. My sense is this site operates in a similar way to many small platforms: a passionate owner set it up and continues to enable its existence primarily through the goodness of his/her own heart. I belong to a few other forums that operate in a similar manner, and exist solely through some private fund... |

Well logically that applies to mods as well, and it was a mod wading in with such an opinion that caused the latest chain of events. So while what we have may be the best approach it's clearly not perfect. Or the system is fine but not all individuals are fine. |

So what is the best approach? Moderation is a good thing, it's needed and the people doing it should be applauded and are on thr side of the angels for sure. But we are all human and so will sometimes get things wrong. So should we the users just swallow it when we disagree? Or should we feel empowe... |
