I did some Dialectical Behavious Therapy work last summer, to help with the depression and anger management problems I've been having. I thought the theory was brilliant at the time, but I've got nowhere with applying it. One problem is the acronyms / abreviations that are supposed to help you reme...

As quoted above: Only 2 percent of those polled refer to themselves as Latinx, while 68 percent call themselves “Hispanic” and 21 percent favored “Latino” or “Latina” to describe their ethnic background, according to the survey from Bendixen & Amandi International, a top Democratic firm special...

Funny there are no Libertarians here. They are very small in number, but usually dominate internet message boards. What is the difference between Libertarians and Liberals? I may have clicked the wrong one. Originally the term Liberalism ment what today in America call Libertarianism. In Europe we ...

As applied to autistics the term is a rough sketch, and a piece of shorthand. But its better than nothing because the term became necessary in 1994 when they expanded the range of people who are classified as "autistic" to include folks (like me) who blend into society better than do clas...

Number one All European languages, except English, arbitrarily divide the universe up into 'masculine and feminine' with some also throwing in a "neuter" category. As Mark Twain observed "In German a young woman has no sex. But a turnip DOES have a sex." English abandoned gender...

Many folks on WP actually DO cry about how "there are no severity levels of autism". So I assume that she is addressing those folks. Makes sense to me.

Yep…high infant mortality did skew the “life expectancy” statistics. Many people lived to at least their 60s even during medieval times. The one wild thing I remember hearing about medieval serfs is that they had strange deaths such as drowning in cricks and when historians looked into it further i...

The OP is right. There are levels of severity. The term "high functioning" was used by the psychiatric community long before they applied it to autism... to mean "a person with a serious condition, but who blends into society". The first time I heard the term it was applied to sc...

I'm really a quagmire....contradictory....I'm both "avoidant" and "blunt." A "quagmire" is like quicksand. Something you, and your horse, get stuck in. Vietnam, and Afghanistan, were both "quagmires" that the US got "stuck in". We get what you mean....

That could be a bear's muzzle.

Or it could the turned up shorten bill of a baby duck.

So its either Winnie the Pooh (but without ears), or its Hewy, Dewy, or Lewy (one of Donald's Ducks three kids).

I just did the math. The math translates 172 cm to "67 inches", or five foot seven. But I just googled metric conversions, and it translated 172 cm to "five foot seven and......23/32! Lol!" Seven and two thirds. So you are closer five foot eight according to the later, more preci...

1) We have to make allies. 2) Its an imperfect world so we have to make allies with the countries that are available. And all countries "abuse human rights". But some more than others. 3) More often than not its right thing to do because the country we are "supporting" is defendi...
