I would think non-binary would be more highly correlated with ASD than not. Although I consider myself female, I am well aware of my masculine traits. I'm too masculine to be an NT female and too feminine to be ASD person. Hahahahahaha. My 10yo daughter is already facing this conundrum: playing bas...

Because there's no reason to assume it actually deters crime Because corporal punishment is utter barbarism and antithetical to our understanding of basic human rights. Focusing on what motivates crime is a better approach than just dreaming up increasingly cruel punishments for those who transgres...

I've found most people are OK with infodumping as long as you aren't forcing them to listen to it nonstop or preventing them from discussing what they want. I tend to give people a heads up that I find it hard to tell if someone else is enjoying the topic and I tend to want to keep going on and on, ...

In general, I think clear communication is best. Perhaps consider discussing your concern with your girlfriend and see if she has any insight for you regarding her expectations and/or comfort zone.

I would appreciate if anyone would share their opinion on the following conversation-snippet between an Autistic person and a Non-Autistic person who are dating. I am withholding my opinion so as not to taint the response of others. Thank you very much in advance for your help. Non-Autistic Individ...

Was it a context where dancing was assumed to be romantic, or was it a context where dancing was just for fun? Was everyone else dancing with romantic partners? Were people switching up dance partners? How cuddly was the dancing? How much eye contact were you two making? It's really hard to tell wit...

Most of the people in this thread are missing the point! You are all quibbling about bone structure and body shape, but that's irrelevant here. She shouldn't feel like she's any less of a person because of her body. And you shouldn't be discouraged from dating just because you feel like your body i...

I'm not sure how I feel about taking away inheritance, but I definitely support universal basic income. My Dad was a teen in Dauphin, Manitoba when they did an experiment on UBI, and it made his life and a lot of the lives of people he knew better while it was going on.

I agree with texasmoneyman300, this sounds like a health issue. I don't know if it's GI, there's a lot of things that could cause you to have increased appetite without gaining weight. Hyperthyroidism, diabetes, parasites, even cancer. I've also had this as a first trimester pregnancy symptom.

Ironically, I'm more likely to have trouble saying yes. Eg when I'm really hurting and lashing out, and my mom asks "do you want a hug?", I can either say no or say nothing, but I can't say yes. I've explained this to her when I'm not in crisis, so now she knows that if I don't respond, sh...

That way the medical term is left to those that want it. And those who have it coercively applied to them. Doctors don't ask the nonverbal, stimmy aloof 18 month old if they want to be labeled with a disorder. I was referring to adults who reject the medical model of autism don’t feel disabled and ...

Slavery was never actually outlawed. It was outlawed "except as punishment for a crime". Which explains a lot about the US prison system.
