You can listen to counter-arguments to think on how to improve your advice - or you can accept that you can't save everyone. What I ask yo...

Well i could theoretically apply to a work from home job that did not require a job coach but I wanted to work from home and my counselor said basically something to the effect that i have no hope of getting any job except a job flipping burgers with no experience. Don't listen to stupid counsellor...

On one hand I get that it means you are comfortable around another person, but on the other hand, I don't want to end up being farting, burping, ball scratching, nose picking, dirty, stinky piece of s**t who just doesn't care anymore. In my personal rule book it's fine to occasionally let it happen ...

b) those connections that make feel better magically happen much more often and almost effortlessly Magically Happen  What potion do we need to drink or what spell do we need to cast to make the magic happen :?: Do we need to find a voodoo witch or do we need to find Penn & Teller :?: D...

As I've explained, brain does that perfectly fine when I am at work. Then you would have nothing to complain about. You understand very well that's not the case. Your personal biased opinions are not objective facts. This is not my personal opinion, this is human biochemistry. My opinion has no pow...

Cause side , what you must cover to be 'happy': - Do you workout regularly? - Do you have enough direct sunlight every day? - Do you eat healthy food? - Do you regularly spend time just breathing fresh air, looking at trees, grass, water, animals? Effect side , what you can enjoy whe...

The original question was about OP's sister demanding some unspecified masking behaviors from him. So, we can absolutely view his dilemma as pleasing his sister vs guarding his boundaries. Yes, we can view it both ways without clarification. Not using ASD as an excuse is a pretty good advise in gen...

Probably I'm missing something obvious, can you give some real life examples? How did you address it? Politely smiling and pretending to be happy when you're all in sensory pain. Keeping "appropriate" eye contact and nice face expression when your anxiety is all over the roof. Suppressing...

Masking, while useful short term to gets things done, destroys mental health in long run. I know it too well. It is worth noting that adopting behaviors you supposed to wear as a "mask" is a way to stop masking and it applies to NTs just as much. Thriving to act and look the way I would n...

Because this kind of habit building deteriorates my already weak mental health. All of those take more anxiety to use, more depression to develop. I do nothing that is outrageously socially unnaceptable to warrant that kind of pavlovian reeducation. What is bad or good is for me to decide, not them...

But yeah, this "mask" is getting difficult to wear, and i feel my sense of what is me and what is the "mask" blending together and deteriorating my sanity Doesn't it mean you are internalizing behavior your sister wants your to adopt and thus it is not really a mask anymore? Eve...

This smell disappeared when she stopped breastfeeding. Now I know what this smell is and can recognize...
