I'll be honest and say A. Causes far more trouble than it's worth, mind.

To the OP: you don't have to cut off all contact with her, just...don't hang out with her as much. Take up some hobbies. Go out socialising with your buddies. Heck, volunteer for something if you're not the communicative type. The thing you have to remember is that your feelings for this person will...

Zinnel, I personally think you're overreacting a little. If you get compliments saying that you are "sweet" and so on from females, that may well just be a compliment and not a judgement on your character. If you enjoy doing little things for others and going out of your way to do them, go ahead and...

Wolfheart, what would you regard as a healthy level of confidence? I don't feel hugely confident or invincible or anything, but I do have a basic level of respect for myself and have ceased regarding myself as a problem to be fixed. On the other hand, I generally don't feel that comfortably without ...

I don't feel confident in myself and don't feel like anyone could ever fall in love with me. Same problem as 99% of the rest of the human population in other words. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

For me, I'll admit that having my worth confirmed matters more to me right now. Most girls I've grown close to eventually go on to date other guys after rejecting me and our friendships end in time as well. I don't think I could ever really open up to anyone, especially when it's the man's confidenc...

I guess you just focus on trying to live a happy life, and try to maintain a healthy sense of self respect. I mean, you are 45. You run the risk of being very unhappy for the remaining years of your adult life if you worry about your value as a serious relationship partner. I know it's cold comfort,...

You're very much in the mode of trying to be something you're not, which is only going to attract (if you can keep up the subterfuge/make it effective enough) people who aren't attracted to you for who you are. I figured the Alpha Male stuff was the only way I could improve. Better than nothing...I...

I'm kidding myself, of course. I can't help but want such a thing. But my personality is all wrong. You can be confident, sure, but that confidence is wasted if you don't flirt. Seems like it doesn't matter a damn if you share a close personal connection with someone, if you don't know how to use yo...

Depends a lot on context. If in a bar, talk about the music or something. If in a school/college...introduce yourself, ask about what they study, how they find life in that institution, etc. It doesn't matter a whole lot what you say so much as how you're saying it. If they're enjoying themselves ar...

It's truly incredible to see two people arguing over which of them is the most pathetic and inferior. Does this forum really attract people with such entrenched self hatred, justified or otherwise? I mean, relationships really aren't worth that level of angst. Am I considered one of those two peopl...

If I was in an "open" relationship and my partner was going out and getting laid by someone else much more often than they were staying the night with me, I'd probably consider that a sign of a problem with the relationship. Hence the problem with the concept in the first place. Suits your partner ...
