Its over St. Louis now. A second one was sighted "over Latin America". "Latin America" is a huge area. Wish they could be a little specific. https://youtu.be/ioq4m3Kgvj0 At least they didn’t say it’s over “many Mexican countries,” like some American news broadcast referred to Ce...

https://www.ctvnews.ca/sci-tech/stars-disappearing-before-our-eyes-faster-than-ever-report-1.6259700 I’m in the 30% of humans that cannot see the Milky Way galaxy. In fact, I’ve never seen it. I had to have been in my young to mid thirties before I’d seen a good clear photo and learned that it’s Sup...

Finished them all & submitted results with 2h 10mins yes to spare. They were all super simple. Mostly just go through the motions kind of stuff vs intense concepts to learn & memorize. Good thing they reminded us last night! (Aside: Last night’s guest speaker presentation was awesome. A prod...

Nah. They’ll do real damage to China by building factories in Texas for Mexicans to make plastic crap at.

Whoops. During online class last night they reminded us there’s a Friday at Midnight deadline to submit results of 4 different online (mini) courses/exams. Totally forgot about the other 3 when I did the first one! Doing them all now. Should have an hour or two to spare. One was a dead simple Covid ...

You’d think with all the guns everywhere that civilians would just shoot it down. :P

I never came back to the thread after you explained you in fact needed a work van. That whole comparison with the Dart really threw me off. It's not a work vehicle, it's a compact sedan. When you finally, pages later, explained that you needed a work van I understood that it wasn't an apples-to-app...

Another article about why it’s a big deal: https://thehill.com/policy/defense/3843240-why-the-discovery-of-a-chinese-balloon-in-us-skies-is-such-a-big-deal/ Maybe in hindsight they should have shot it down already when it was over a sparsely populated area. Maybe they still will shoot it down. Or ma...

I don't buy the last two paragraphs. War is extremely bad for natural environment. Humans show a reliable pattern of reproducing less in comfortable stability and reproducing more after wars and big disasters. To reduce human population, doing nothing and letting people choose not to have children ...

Then the US would be at war with russia and that’s what they’re trying to officially avoid by just providing aid to Ukraine to fight their war.. if other countries start shopping, now it’s WW3. "Shopping"? Of course we're shopping for military equipment, how not to in this place of the wo...

Working in film might actually attract a lot of aspies. Chatted with a lead carpenter for an HBO show and he said the quality of people tends to be lower in film, more thieves, fewer family men as the hours are longer - 10-12+ hours/day so a lot of family oriented types won’t do it. Got me thinking ...

Hmm - kid didn’t know that I’m his and his sister’s and cousin’s Godfather until I brought it up in a chat the other day. I guess it’s never been a relevant thing for his grandparents to bring up ever. Still waiting on him to decide when he’s had enough of living there and make a phone call and some...
