empathy (n): the ability to recognize, understand, and share the feelings of another person, animal, or fictional character Feeling remorse for hurting someone ... is it because you know you should not hurt others, or because you identify with being hurt? I never hurt people on purpose like a manip...

I know it's considered a myth that autistic people lack empathy but I feel like I really do lack it. I have cried at sad movies/videos but if I watch them again I feel desensitized and feel no sadness at all. I have never felt sad watching the (mostly negative) news but I don't laugh either I just f...

I have a lifelong fascination with mythology. If it is mythology related, I will jump into it without much thought and learn as much as I can. This is a very broad category (despite what many people think), and has evolved into other areas. Because of this one "interest" I tend to be an e...

I have a great long-term memory, I can remember a time when I was almost 2 years old but my short-term memory is terrible like forgetting what I entered a room for or leaving something in the room that I need elsewhere, etc.

I feel I've got better in some ways and worse in others. I was diagnosed at 3 and used to have a really high pitched voice and repeated everything my parents said. I grew out of it eventually thankfully before I started school. As a child I hardly had any social anxiety and didn't mind family gather...

I have pretty much no friends in real life and I talk (well I whisper) to myself as if someone is next to me. I talk about all sorts of topics and also say what I'm going to do next. "I'm going to the bathroom, I'm going to get a drink, etc". I've did this for as long as I can remember.

I can watch pretty much any type of movie without grimacing or cringing and just keeping a straight face. Is anyone else like this?

I have high functioning autism and still live with my 58 year old dad, and 2 brothers, one of whom has Asperger's, the other neurotypical. My dad recently said to no one in particular that when he dies he is selling the house. He didn't ask me how I felt and I was scared of sounding stupid if I aske...

I like them because they have simple storylines and happy endings. I don't watch today's shows but ones I watched when I was 4 or 5 in the early 90s.

Ok so last week we were getting electric heating fitted. Two plumbers were there and they kept having to come into my bedroom to check the radiator. They never once knocked and just walked straight in. They came in a total of 6 times. My bedroom is like my cut-off point from the outside world so it ...

Sorry, that was my fault. She enjoys reading, sewing, cakes and tea. She frequently posts pictures of clothes she's made most of which are any other woman would wear.

Sounds like a good idea. A support worker is supposed to support people who only want to do what neurotypical people take for granted. And in this day and age with all the technology the internet is probably how most young people today start dating.

She has a busy job so it would have been at night but in her hotel (in the lobby of course) or a cafe.
