Bathrooms are difficult because a transgender woman is not safe in a male restroom. I had not thought transgender women posed any actual threat to women in a female restroom, but we may have a case that says differently, and I don't know yet how seriously to take that. There remains more I need to ...

I don't see how calling someone as they wish could possibly harm students. It's such a small ask. IMHO the teachers should shut up and respect each student's choice. Note that I also wouldn't approve of a heavy hand enforcing the standard, given how often people will make innocent mistakes. Shoot, ...

A “world-first” Australian study which Victoria’s government has held up as proof its mandatory face mask policy worked is riddled with basic errors and should never have been published in a major journal, medical researchers and experts say. Victoria first made face masks mandatory outside the hom...

Set out the bait, and they will come. I see. :chin: So, you are admitting to trolling. 8O Kudos. :thumright: Probably shouldn't be a surprise, given the link to an article on a satirical website in the signature of his posts, being presented as an "official list" for the past several mont...

I don't believe that any politician should be on facebook while they have been elected because they have an unfair advantage with the electorate, and this goes for all politicians. If they have jot been elected then they should be free to do as they chose. On the face of it, this would appear a rea...

^ Are you sure you're not a lawyer? ;) But yes, that argument should be part of the discussion. Another is - how to prevent harm made by freedom of speech abuse. Weighting it is tricky. Nope, not a lawyer, although one of dad's friends (a now-retired magistrate) suggected I should look into that li...

"Trust different sources of information" seems like saying "Good people on both sides" -- people and opinions on opposite sides cannot both be correct; in a two-sided discussion, there must be one side that denies the truth and one side that relies upon it. Well, let's start by ...
