While I feel mostly at home here there are some areas where I don't. Writing Style/Intelligence: I feel I am much less verbose, and my grammar and spelling is inferior to most posters. While I do feel my intelligence is fine it is well below the average member. I feel I am the only one here (and els... |

A number of threads on the same topic occur often. Lately people are bringing back threads from several years ago and answering questions from OP's that have stopped posting here. |

In the 1960's and 1970's among rich people seeing a psych started becoming chic. But in the lower middle class areas I grew up in there was still a large stigma involved..it was seen as the ultimate in giving up so if you had to see a psychiatrist you must be really crazy. They hid them away in a ro... |

Thanks everyone. The main reason why I made this thread is that over the last few months I have been thinking about me, who am and where I stand in society with respect to everyone else. I was diagnosed nearly ten years ago now, and ever since then I have fought every step of the way because I want... |

This particular thing a friend from high school said to me wasn't really related to my having traits of AS, per se, but I think it's still appropriate. What she told me was, "You know, LtlPinkCoupe, when I first met you during our freshman year, I thought you were kind of weird, but as I got to kno... |

My question is this - do any of you excel at certain types of social interaction? If so, what sorts of situations? I work at a smoke shop as one of my jobs - I work about 86 hours a week in total - I pick jobs I like a lot though. I actually don't smoke tobacco, just other herbal plant matter, and ... |

While I like the idea of a government built from the ground up to support the needs of aspies, ultimately I wouldn't support a country with an "aspies rule, NTs drool" attitude. Why? Because I support neurodiversity, and a part of supporting neurodiversity is in fact respecting NTs and their rights... |

A government agency saying it is their fault not the Autistic persons fault. What a refreshing change. The defense will try and say he provoked it. Lets hope they fail. |

From your post, it sounds like running for office wouldn't be suited for you. That doesn't rule out politics (you could work behind the scenes in a government office). Being an elected official, you are in the public eye 24/7. Everything you say or do will be put under a microscope, and your oppone... |

Tailoring your message to specific audiences is a good skill to have. It can be the same message but worded differently as you have done. I hope your course survives because it is needed now more then at anytime. Same conformity emphases is happening at the elementary and high school level with the ... |
