There is currently a lot of pressure on Biden to pick a "diverse" cabinet. Biden famously said that he would pick a cabinet that "looked like the country" As a thought experiment I looked at what a cabinet proportionately scaled by demographics would look like. To be clear, I do ...

To people saying cultures can't be superior to one and another I submit the following two cultures:

A) Antebellum Southern U.S. culture
B) Insert your favorite modern country's culture

"White privilege" is a racial generalization about people, so discussion about it is not allowed on this site either. You might want to discuss that with Alex, he's been pretty clear that it is allowed on this site. Discussion about white privilege is has occurred often in PPR without cen...

That's 71 million who voted. The overall number is likely much higher. And not limited to Americans. The reason for that is seems simple. They have a different impression of him. Either all those millions are brainwashed, crazy, cultists, neo-nazis and other hyperbole, or there's simply more than o...

If the American Psychological Association recognise "White privilege" as an evidence based phenomenon then it can't really be banned as its therefore an attack on freedom of speech. https://www.apa.org/research/action/speaking-of-psychology/white-privilege In contrast Racism against black...

This checks out with my impressions of Trump.

Straight faced lying as an act of pettiness cause he only cares about himself and his brand and can't admit he lost.

I dislike the term white privilege for the simple reason that it reinforces racial classifications and thus contributes to racism, but fail to see how it violates PPR policies to discuss it here.

Looks like that Minneapolis ordinance isn't actually happening after all, at least not this year: Minneapolis leaders push ahead with efforts to change police by Amy Forliti, AP News, August 6, 2020. So it will be a while, if ever, before we get a chance to see how this idea works out, alas. Predic...

Defund the police does not mean get rid of them, it just means put the money somewhere else than putting it all into the police. It's a common misconception that "defunding the police" means completely stripping law enforcement of all of their funding. While while some organizations are i...

BTW this corsi might want to brush up on his constitution. While its true the f...

I've been thinking about this thread a bit, because it really represents a problem that I have a hard time with: messaging. As far I can tell all the posters (or almost all of the posters agree): 1. Life is a mix of things under your control and out of your control, you can't dictate how your life g...

What I hear is: Your mental health condition doesn't exist or if it does exist then it isn't as bad as you and your doctors say it is. Go get a job. Refuse your benefit. Ignore the fact that nobody wants you and go apply for hundreds more jobs. Never mind the cost those rejections had on your menta...

I think the more conservative message of benevolence gets lost because we tend to focus too much on lost causes and wasteful, worthless programs we object to. In this topic, the whole conservative message of self-empowerment based on personal responsibility seems to be get lost. Instead I hear: 1. ...

I disagree with Obama on about a thousand policy decisions, but I always respected the man's acumen and desire for a better world.

He nailed it here with "Do you want to actually get something done, or do you want to feel good among the people you already agree with?"

KT67 forget it! You will never budge conservative minded people from their position no matter what stats you use. And, stats can be made to fit your position anyway which is what they do. For me, it's all water under the bridge anyway. I have a job in China anyway. I would advise you to do what you...

I'm going to lay down some truth. You don't have a full say in how your life will turn out. Others have a stake in your life as well. Employers can choose to hire you or not as an example. The American idea that one has full control of your life and destiny is a lie. I think card games like poker m...
