This is true, as I often have huge explanations to drop on people, and it's usually when I'm under pressure, that I have a lump of information all jammed up in my mouth and I don't know yet how to organize it into information processable to others. Hence, I literally try to say everything at once. I...

I choose to disregard any of this and just call it a neural abnormality/disorder. Because really, only YOU know if your "ill" or not. In official terms it's a disorder. The worse it gets I guess you could call it an illness, but many people consider it a blessing, and so, when one truly knows the st...

In my family theres my low functioning autistic sister (She's gradually becoming higher functioning.) and me (high functioning aspie.) and usually the best way we learn excecutive funct is a very low pressure enviroment, and when people don't oggle us when we finally DO do the executive funct things...

NO your ideas are not bad, extreme, or unreasonable. Your friends will all do it, your family will all do it, and everyone around you will brush it off giving you the illusion that it's all perfectly ok. People will tell you reasons it will actually somewhat help you, reasons it's not so bad, reason...

Honestly, if you don't know the person you have nothing to worry about, because most of the time you'll never see them again. I've gotten used to utter embarrasment in public. Eventually it's not embarrasing anymore, and people just note your animation and eccentricity, chuckle about it, and forget....

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Ingenius Minds TV show has a bunch of auts/asps

So I got stuck watching this marathon of that show "Ingenius Minds" which is basically about savants and their abilities. After about two people who had apparently gained savant abilities through head injuries, the rest were a long list of aspergers and autistic individuals. Including John Elder Rob...

I agree, I think this is more of a depiction of real life. As tragic as it is, this is what happens in most relationships. People mask themselves to cover all their insecurities, when eventually their superficial masks collapse on themselves, conflict on some level ensues, and they are forced to res...

I love having obsessions, and... being smart, a strong sense of individuality, being able to do think rationally without having emotions dominate my actions, being able to rely on myself emotionally.

Well I had this theory too, but I think that depends on the person. For example, there are tons of auts/asps that are ninjas at memorization, in other examples, there are those auts/asps that are really really good problem solvers, or high processing speed, (Or compilers like you said.) but have a c...

Your on WrongPlanet, don't worry about being weird. Well, it sounds a lot like you could have aspergers. I can't give you a clear answer, but in regards to the thought process behind the social behavior of an asp; asps get their social awkwardness from their lack of understanding of superficial situ...

Call me crazy, but I think your daughter is overreacting, or just being cheated on. Though, it sounds it's gotten much worse. I wouldn't call him an aspie, as with the details presented, he sounds fairly NT. Although there aren't enough details on his personality to actually make an clear decision w...

Haha... I know the feeling. When people say "You can do anything." everyone knows it's true... No, you cannot do anything. You cannot transform into a dog that pukes purple chickens. You can't do whatever you want HOWEVER you want, but the point is your life is up to you. And in regards to sleeping...

Normally there's never an emotional connection I make to any films, but when they DO do a good job of portraying scenes I can relate to, or something along those lines, I make almost a subconsious effort to quickly crush the idea and throw the feelings away out of frustration. It's because for one, ...

Haha... I know the feeling. When people say "You can do anything." everyone knows it's true, but what most people forget is that the solution "You just... do." or "Try harder." Is not always or the clearest way you accomplish anything. Some advice would be to stray away from focusing on being "norma...
