Only just got used to Capaldi and they go and change it again. Anyway, having a young woman in the role has apparently upset a lot of Daily Mail readers... so it has to be a good thing.

I have a huge collection of hats because I have to keep out of the sun, but it's difficult to find a hat that fits my fat head.
Just received a very nice flat cap.. Italian made and therefore very stylish and it fits perfectly.

Apparently... my face is very expressive when it comes to something/someone I don't like, I just can't hide that displeasure.

To be honest, he was a grumpy old get anyway. I think I may have understood quicker if he had pointed, but the moment was lost already. It was lucky I didn't resort to my "are you the village idiot?" comment... I might have got my spotty face punched. The rather impolite imperative is usua...

I've lived in Yorkshire for 30 years, so I should be used to "put wood in th'oil" (put the wood in the hole)... but this one wrong-footed me... I walked into a pub and the crusty old local sitting at the bar said "there's a piece of wood over there that belongs in that hole". Fir...

I do a lot of writing and I'm easily distracted. My advice is: get a good writing programme (like Scrivener) and disconnect the computer from the internet. If possible, have a dedicated writing computer... word processors are not data-hungry... and have internet connection on another machine in anot...

You need to have the stick on the side of the good leg. If you have it on the side of your bag leg (like Dr House) you will crock your back. If you have two bad legs, then maybe two sticks are a good idea. They need to be the correct height, if you stand up straight the start if the handle should be...

Never had facebook or anything like it. I join up with forums occasionally but mostly to share interests or gain information on something. I'm rather twitchy about sticking my head up above the parapet and entering anything about myself in the public domain. With a forum you can remain as anonymous ...

Yes. I sometimes use a walking stick (presume that's the same as a cane). I have peripheral neuropathy which is slowly deadening the nerves in my legs, creeping up from my toes upwards. The good news, my Neurologist informs me, is that I'd have to live to 150 before I needed a wheelchair. I need a c...

No-one gets close enough to me to put their hand on my shoulder... with the exception of Mrs Trueno. If they tried I'd probably jump back and put up my hands in a defensive gesture. When I was at work I used to have a 12" ruler on my desk, if anyone got too close I'd put it between us and say &...

I don't want to reproduce for selfish reasons. I'm not joking. I don't want to use any of my money or efforts for raising children. I fear that if too many people share my sentiments we may end up in an underpopulation crisis. I'm with you on that. I've never actually understood why people want kid...
