When I was a kid I spent a lot of time sitting under the table and chairs or behind the sofa. Nobody knew where I was. I would also sit with a coat or a towel over my head. Nobody ever seemed to think it was weird and it just seemed natural to me. It just made me feel safe and comfortable.

I have two sets of stairs in my house… double the chance of falling down one. I’ve had an extra rail put on each, so I can grab both sides going up and down. I feel much safer now… a local joiner could do it really cheaply… or the Council might do it for nowt.
