I've had this same problem. Once when I ordered a glass of wine at a restaurant the server wouldn't let me have it. Since I look so young, she was certain my I.D. was a fake one! |

I've been diagnosed with both ADHD, inattentive type, and autism. I think that they should be thought of as two separate spectrums. There are plenty of people who have one condition and not the other even though they often go hand-in-hand. |

Does he say why he won't do his work in the classroom? My little guy sometimes gives the teacher a hard time when he's supposed to be doing something involving fine motor skills. He has a delay in that area and really struggles to do the work and his hand will hurt from the exertion. Does your steps... |

Does anyone else's child struggle with this? My son was recently diagnosed with this. He's had the symptoms for a while, but they've definitely gotten worse since he's started kindergarten. He'll eat grass, dirt, glue, crayons, and whatever else he can get his hands on. His teacher tells me that he ... |

Hi! I'm an autistic woman. My partner is neurotypical. I am ambivalent about having children. My ambivalence is in part related to heritability of ASD and knowing how challenging that may be. I am not looking for condemnation or support in coming to a decision on this matter. Rather, I am curious t... |

Many abusers deliberately condition their victims to feel responsible for the abuse, they use a verbal scripted monologue to condition the victim to take the blame, often along with the threats of telling anyone. Because of fear, the child is thrown into a state of extreme focus and attention, and ... |

I still have many of the same interests as I did when I was younger. I wouldn't want to grow up completely. :p |

Thanks B19. There is definitely still a sense of guilt, but I've mostly moved on to a happier time in my life. |

I'm 32 and content for the first time in my life. It's like I've finally passed adolescence and all the angst and frustration (most of it anyway) is gone. I wish I would've figured things out a decade ago. |

I know that was true for me.

I'm quite forgetful. I think it has to do with my ADHD. It's hard to focus on something long enough to make it into my long term memory. |
