i dreamt that i was trapped in my house with a queen bee that somehow slipped in before first frost, and it kept buzzing around me threateningly, and no matter how much or often i sprayed it with bee killer, it kept getting back up and harassing me some more.

this has special resonance for me because in early january of 2008, my mother asked me "am i going to die soon?" and i couldn't answer her. it still bugs me. when she needed comfort i was a klutz.

i will admit to taking great comfort from the "new agey" stuff, it gives me a peace of mind i could not get elsewhere, that all my travails on earth wouldn't be for nothing. and after all, isn't how it makes you feel the ultimate arbiter of good and non-goodness, as long as nobody else is...

there is diabetes in my family tree, both my sister and me had pre-diabetes at one point. we reluctantly gave up refined carbs and eat more healthy fats and proteins/veggies. i love sweets as much as the next guy but i had to ask myself one question - " would i rather 'taste good' - or FEEL goo...
