^^ all very true. The first answer to a problem is often based on serious simplification. And I'm beginning to understand that all things are really very complex and simple answers are one of the biggest problems we have as humans, e.g. believing that one side or another in a political argument is c...

I guess I'm about a 50 on that GAF scale. Have some things lower and some higher. I had to look up circumstantial speech. That's me! Struggling not to try fit in ALL the details and still remember what I was talking about. I will have to think a bit more about inhibition and self control. I think my...

I absolutely cannot wear deodorant or perfume. I remember going wild with the stuff as a teenager though. Now living with a teenager, I struggle when he liberally applies smelly things. Our tolerance for these things seems to change over time. I find the use of strong perfume a big turn off. I have ...

When I share with my partner it is by me reading something out. I never share links. There is a balance between sharing something that has resonated with me and keeping this place as something private. I have several times felt the tension of feeling someone I know might benefit from what is on here...

Birthdays arr tricky. I find there tends to be a build up of tangled emotion about an upcoming important birthday that completely pushes me into immobility. When i was 7 or 8 i remember excitedly telling my dad, who had just got home, what we (mother and i) had got him for his birthday. I promptly g...

For me, not believing in myself came as a result of my upbringing. I interpreted the meaning of my parents attempts to bully me.into action as that I am not worthy or capable of anything. Dealing with this residue of the past has been (and still is) a long journey. I now see that my relationship wit...

I love waterfalls! Nature in general is THE place to go to get sane again but waterfalls are special. I remember one particular instance after a hike with some friends in the mountains. It had rained a lot recently. It's not a very high waterfall. Maybe 10 meters. Swimming naked in the pool below it...

That's great that you are doing better! Well done for looking after yourself and being gentle. Self care takes a lot of practice! I find I easily fall back into bad habits. But as I learn more I have got better at noticing when I am going off the rails and pulling myself back.

Online is great for a lot of things and absolutely lousy for others. I also hate not being able to speak to a human when I need more information. That said I'm often not great on phone calls either. I do find a lot of websites are just too busy. My mind can't process all the information to sort out ...

People can be miserable! I try to take such labels as badges of honour or compliments. It no longer matters much to me what others think. What I think is what matters to me. I love my obsessions! Life would be totally not worth living without them. I tend to think that someone judging, says more abo...
