I wanted to say something, but something completely different came out instead. It's not word finding issues. It's not a Freudian slip. This is what happened today: Person (impersonating a foreign guy): Have a wonderful day! Me (quoting): Is this a dagger I see before me? Person: Woah, take it easy ...

I feel like that there are people who really enjoy and care about me, but I just can't reciprocate the feeling to their level of intensity. For some people, I am completely indifferent toward them, but they seem to be really attatched to me. When I was younger, I thought people who said that they we...

Someone told me about this website at school. I didn't believe him at first, but then I looked it up and saw that he was telling the truth.

I once attempted sarcasm but failed at it. People thought I was being serious.

Sometimes I can detect sarcasm, but not always. It gets confusing when I ask someone if they're being sarcastic, and they reply "No" sarcastically. People often have to tell me, "I'm just kidding" or "I'm just messing with you." I joke around with others. Just without u...

I'm thinking of making a little clay figure of one (or two) of my teachers to give to them as a holiday present. Assuming that I do a good job of it, would that seem like a strange gift? Sometimes, people talk about it being 'unnerving' to look at a replica of themselves, but sometimes people think ...

I had the same teacher from the age of 3 to 6. She threatened to cut off the ear of a kid who wasn't listening, even going as far as taking out a pair of scissors and asking him which ear he'd like to keep. I ate slowly, so she would try to speed me up by putting spicy peppers into my food. She also...

It seems like autistic catatonia is a medical name for a shutdown.

Apparently, seemingly pointless hyperactivity can be a symptom of catatonia too.

Both of my parents have said to me multiple times, 'Why can't you just be normal?'

So, no. My parents don't say I'm normal.

When you can't move, that is Autistic Catatonia. I just read about that. You are not alone this.

I've never heard of that. I'll check it out.

I actually don't remember having a meltdown due to sensory overload, only due to other things. Instead, I experience sensory overload like this: First, I'll be stimming and fidgeting non-stop. If I don't have to be seated in a desk, then I'll run around, jump, spin in circles, etc. I have Tourettes ...

Is NV reasoning and spatial skills both part of performance iq? A few years ago, I had an assessment where NV reasoning and spatial were seperate categories and there was no ''performance'' category. The spatial was 20 points higher than the NV reasoning. Verbal was 17 points higher than NV reasonin...

I self-diagnosed at first but kept quiet about it. I was an 11-year-old kid, so I wasn't sure if anyone'd take me seriously. Then three years later, I got a professional diagnosis.

Just out of curiousity. Other than people like doctors and insurance workers, of course, because sometimes you HAVE to tell them. If you more or less pass as NT, who, in your opinion would likely be more understanding and who would likely be otherwise? I think that other autistics should be the most...

I've had trouble with the TH sound in the past, but that's because in my first language, TH doesn't exist. I've also a little trouble with the 'R' sound in the past, so I used to say 'three' as 'swee'. Other than that, I never had problems with pronouncing syllables, but I talk softly, pause a lot w...
