I'm going back next Monday, and I got my questions answered, thank god. Now I'm just nervous for no real reason other than I feel nervous and this is a giant change. I'm just pretending this isn't going to happen.

After being denied an IEP for my good social skills, and being determined "not technically autistic" by my school, they have finally agreed to give me a 504 plan. I'm being pressured by my dad to go back this year, which I don't want to, but I'm still doing because I feel like I have to. I...

I'm sorry for ranting about something so personal here, but I can't cope and everyone is ignoring me. I have this terrible stomach virus. I have never felt more sick in my life. I already have extreme sensory problems relating to poop, and now I have I can't even spell it, it starts with a d, you kn...

I would kill all the school officials. They're heartless bastards and don't want to give me any help at all. Apparently I'm not longer autistic according to them. I can't even come into school, and they claim that my autism "doesn't affect my performance at school". Like b*****s, shut the ...

I'm pretty sure everyone does this, but I do it A LOT. Like I say like all the time. See? I just did it! I try to do it less over text, but irl I say "like" almost every word, say um 24/7, and I also say "you know" and "I mean" a lot.

I'm being very pressured at my age to start driving, but I don't think I'm ready. Whenever I'm in the car, it's hard enough for me to simply exist without flipping out. I hope I can move somewhere where I can take public transport or ride a bike when I get older. I'll probably try to drive, but I ca...

Have you ever been tested for BPD? Some things you have desribed in other posts seem to align with that. The average age here is pretty old, obviously, lol. But I prefer it to more modern social media because I'm not sure why. I guess because it seems old, and I take a lot of comfort in the past. I definitely wouldn't change the design, one of the reasons I come on here is because it looks less modern....

I confess that as an Autistic kid, I had such an aversion to the cold feeling of a toilet seat on my thighs, that I would hold my poop in for days sometimes, just to avoid going to the toilet. I don't know why I do it, but I've done that for as long as I can remember. I hold my poop in for weeks at...

Being in an isolated area, and being homeschooled, makes things really difficult as far as socialization is concerned. No ——, Sherlock, I know I’m just commiserating with you by stating the obvious. How do you feel about the 4H Club? Or something like Junior Achievement? What is 4H and Junior Achie...

It's better not to worry about what your diagnosis is. Getting attached to a diagnostic label might make your therapy less effective. The BEST way to make friends that I know of is to join a group or club. Your profile summary says you're 14 years old: I suggest you try talking to your guidance cou...

I’d wear noise cancelling headphones or earbuds when I could. I do but the baby is so loud that you can still it! 8O Active noise cancelling won't help with that type of noise, the only thing I can suggest that might work is earplugs or earmuffs that are made for really loud noises. I have some mad...

So I have been like sorta faking my autism, now that I've gotten lonely I don't really want to fake it that much anymore. But I already have the diagnosis. Was it right? Idk. It's so lonely and I'm not really getting benefit from acting more autistic. I need to make more friends but they all think I...

Do they have such things as half day programs in the US? I would want to do something like that, ideally, but there isn't something like that near me. Me and my mom are going to see if we can arrange something with the school to where I only go for a few classes and do the rest at home, but we're n...

What you are "going to war" about? I hope you get to go back to school, and graduate from high school on time. I find it very important that you don't keep yourself too far behind. That will make it harder to catch up. You seem like a very smart person. I really want you not to fall behin...
