So I'm no longer a 13 year old girl, I'm now a 19 year old guy. I never did get assessed- and I didn't talk to my parents about it until I was 17. I had a GP appointment about a referral when I was 18. I'm now waiting to hear if I'm on the adult waiting list. While I did not have meltdowns when I w...

Thank you Cora, that was fascinating to read. I've looked up some information about the tests that they do to in this process, I remembered reading about that frog story. This is the part that worries me - (...) I turned my chair away from her and avoided eye contact, knowing it would give me plent...

Welcome to the club! According to a lot of things, I may be in-between, but at some point I chose to identify with autistic/aspie and started to adopt some of the things I read about. I learned that it was a good explanation for myself! I could just be someone in the middle, but no one likes being ...

Possibly unpopular opinion, but of course you can be somewhat autistic. One person's opinion shouldn't be a deciding factor. Only you know yourself. You can be in-between autistic and not autistic. I guess this can change based on your personal beliefs. You can determine your opinion, as this is jus...

Whether you’re autistic or not doesn’t define you as a person. You don’t have to have a diagnosis of autism to be a member of WP. Agreed, some people be acting like whether or not you have a diagnosis defines every personality trait you have or will have. I hate those "I hate all non-autistic ...

I thought mine would be negative, so on the questionnaires I simply played it up a little. Even when I did that, my scores were still lower than the ones my mom gave me, so I was never detected as faking. Just do what you need to do. It turns out that it was kind of in my power to determine my resul...

Okay, I think I learned a few things from this experience: 1. Charging your social energy, even when half of your brain doesn't want you to, can make you more motivated to interact with people and can kind of reset your social battery. 2. For some reason, I am the designated talker of the family, so...

Is it fine if I accidentally talk a couple times? Like earlier I accidentally started saying "no!" repeatedly because I was working on a bracelet and all the beads fell off... Does it still count as an official vow of silence if I end up yelling out a few things accidentally? For my...

Yeah...I know what you mean. I knew this woman who was obsessed with another woman. She was so obsessed that she was arrested once for harassing the other woman (though she only got a 6-month deferment, after which her case was sealed). Frankly, I didn't enjoy listening to her talking about her obs...

I second this, I have been wanting noise cancelling headphones but can't find anything that would work for me. Budget recommendations would be great because I don't have 300 dollars.

I'm officially diagnosed, but my scores were pretty much equal for NT and aspie. I say f**k this test, it means nothing.

I'm actually feeling pretty good right now, I had an awesome night and successfully talked to some family members. (At their house for a few days) I have a feeling I will burn out soon, though, I'm a little overwhelmed but in a happy way. Often I don't realize how hard I'm pushing myself when I'm ha...

I told my sis, surprisingly she was very chill and didn't even seem weirded out. Now I just got my parents... my sister said to not care what they say bc they shouldn't complain because it doesn't even affect them. I'm not sure which reason to tell them tho, i will probably wait until the day before
