In fact, both Islam and Calvinism are radical examples of determinism, while secular humanism stresses personal responsibility. Both of the religious traditions you mentioned have some form of predeterminist philosophy, in which a divine being has scripted out every thought and action of every bein...

Religion by its very nature is exclusionary. Hence, it creates cliques which believe that they have the right of it, and others are wrong. Incorrect. Anyone can choose to join most established religions. But choose to not join, and you are ostracised as a heretic, a blasphemer, an infidel, or whate...

Actually, I'm still waiting for SW to admit he is wrong and apologize to me Why would you care? For including me in an unprovoked insult based on a sexual act. Wrong about what? about his beliefs? you want him to change his belief system to fit what you consider to be correct from your own perspect...

Trouble with all this is that there is just no science to back up chemtrail claims ... Instead of using the most rudimentary of scientific method these nutjobs with a camcorder just make assumptions of a phenomenon they do not understand.

Bingo. You've summed it all up right there.

Then explain the "big difference" between contrails and "chemtrails" in terms that even the least of us can understand. I think that's pretty obvious, if you'd read a thing anyone had written. If you need me to explain the difference I really don't think you're qualified to comment, let alone be so...

Why else would we be having this discussion? Maybe - just maybe - some folks are capable of drawing attention to themselves only by asserting theories of freedom-supressing conspiracies; which are so absurd as to provoke right-minded people into posting responses that are based upon fact and reason...

Many religions had their origins in polytheism (many gods) or animism (everything has an 'anima' or spirit). Odd how the dominant religions of the world are now monotheistic. Yes, all religions are more-or-less the same, but this is because religion is the Socio-Political expression of Faith, which ...

"Dead Man Walking" refers to a condemned convict making his final steps towards his appointed execution. More loosely, it refers to any man on his way past the 'point of no return' - such as a groom on his wedding day or a soldier on a suicide mission. As for how this saying referred to your situati...

Which "they" do you mean; the kids, the people that accuse them of witchcraft, the people who stand by and let it happen, or the Religionists that openly promote the persecution?

Again, I'm not talking about normal 'sun dogs' (parhelia). Neither am I. Of course contrails have been pretty common since then, but we aren't talking about contrails, are we? There is a very big difference and it's pretty clear what that is to anyone who has a set of eyes and can go outside once i...
