Hi and welcome, Sapho :). I hope you don't give up. The attitude of the Doc who had no idea ... he needs an Autism 101 course. If it's what you need, don't give up. Knowing Wales though, unless things have seriously altered, you're in for a very long wait on a diagnosis. Feel for you. Good to have y...

I feel like I would rather live in a fictional or cartoon universe than the real one. Does anyone feel that way? Real society right now sucks badly and it's going to get worse. It makes most fictional societies look more sane and reality is actually more scary than many horror films. Oh yes please!...

Depends who's doing the hugging. One of the loveliest hugs I ever received was from someone in Florida in a store(a shopkeeper who was very arty). We bonded over art and SEN. Totally out of the blue. I've been hugged by an ex-F-I-L who made me feel VERY uncomfortable. It didn't help that he commente...

Thanks for the read, ASPOM. I’ve been left stunned by both the reaction of friends and family in Aus from the beginning of this, and even moreso to the draconian way the police are handling things. I still can’t get a couple of scenes out of my mind. Firstly, the scene where a Dad had his 2 year old...

Absolutely! Australia has nothing to fear, that is, unless the US is to fall in the next 20-30 years … perish the thought! I will be dead by then. I suspect I won't care what happens after that. Ditto, though Pepe shall live on forever! :P Hasn’t this war of words escalated quickly with F...

I also take an anti-depressant(prozac) which has been very effective in coping with trauma. I hear you on your difficulty communicating with your health providers, but it ju...

Only natural you feel this way though :). I agree with the above post that says “Just let him talk” b...

So sorry to hear how the date ended up, yoyo. Maybe it would have been better to have cancelled, under the circumstances. I hear you, that your date had been getting ready for two hours, but pain is pain. Things may well have gone a whole lot better, minus a flare up. It goes with the territory that...
