What a strange thread! Someone makes a pathologically long post. Then thirteen years later a second person (who didnt notice the date on the OP) thanks the first person for posting it not realizing that the first person left the site ages ago. Then in the subsequent six years other people chime in ....

I learned that there were diesel powered airplanes (back in the days of propeller planes).
Just learned about a Soviet WWII bomber type that came in a diesel variant.

I knew that dirigibles were usually either steam or diesel powered, but not heavier than air aircraft.

Canada is sending 4 tanks as well. No idea what kind, if we built them or bought them from the USA, but Canada is also on the list. The USA is sending the most, IIRC, and overall it's something like ~60 tanks headed to Ukraine. When I heard that number I thought "In the grand scheme of the wor...

Here is the song mentioned a couple of pages up. Complete with the offending word still in.

Spoken in the same two breaths as 'maggot' and 'slut', its hardly noticeable. Silly censorship.

I would rather have change given to me in front of me, rather than in my hand. Unless the cashier lady is kind of cute :P I do understand the black person's irritation----with not being treated as an equal human being with a white person. I doubt very much, these days, that a white clerk in a store...

Does Dr. Seuss count as poetry? When we were younger my brother liked to write poems that made zero sense and annoy me to death by reading them and sadistically enjoying my irritation and confusion. He said real poems never rhyme and always have some really deep meaning that you're not suppos...

No not at all. It just happens. I have to come home and make myself cum about 5 times before I'm satisfied. I don't even think about my T or even about the things I've spoke about. It's just weird. I'm wondering if it's something to do with feeling vulnerable. Probably a phase youre going through. ...

I don’t feel the Chinese premier will be that stupid. He might fall to a common disease of dictators - start believing his own propaganda. I hope it doesn't happen but we have to be prepared. There's a second disease of dictators, if they're belligerent and aggressive, they eventually place themsel...

Yeah. Like the Terminator he just keeps coming back to life. And we live in a world where Santos is allowed to serve in Congress. So anything is possible. Right now even a GOP nomination for Trump seems impossible, but De Santis shows signs of impending political self destruction. So Trump might win...

The opposite of optimism is pessimism.

The opposite of cynicism is idealism.

Back in the Seventies anthropologist Margaret Mead would say that "the average suburban American has 80 to a 100 'energy slaves' in their home". That is...the average middle class american - with our electrical appliances, and modern conveniences, has the equivalent of 80 human slaves work...

Starting another "whose holocaust was the worst?" debate is inane and stupid. Hitler is not judged "more harshly", but about equally harshly as others. Stalin or Mao might have killed more people in camps, but they didnt start a world war that killed more millions. And if Hitler ...
