That makes sense. You probably have a decent resume/CV. You have bargaining chips. Of course, academia likes to be cheap--and cheap with health benefits, too. It's also much better to drive with an automatic transmission than with a manual transmission. Many, many less steps one has to remember. I can't drive a manual transmission car. I like the 60's-70's sitcoms: Barney Miller is a favorite. Also: Gilligan's Island, Emergency, The Brady Bunch, Courtship of Eddie's Father, The Odd Couple, many more.
