I think that drug could be used for a lot of things. However, autism isn't one of those things. And how do you know autism isn't one of those things exactly? From my experiance it helps one feel more connected with their environment and more comfortable within it. I thought one problem amoung asper...

Why don't people get a life and stop wasting time, trying to dig up evidence so they can convince everyone else to be a stonehead. I used to do that when I smoked it. If there's stuff in cannabis that help with depression, just make some kind of pill people can take. If there's anything in it that ...

wow im surprised at some of the ignorance on marijuana in an autistic web community. Those with psychological disorders are prone to seek out marijuana often as a form of self medication. Some of these people will become schizophrenic but a great deal of them would have become schizophrenic even if...

Also not trying to start another thread, but... Well I did not really want to start another thread as this is just another odd thing I don't understand but I've been needing to vent about it for a few hours now. So today I was hanging out at my friends house like usual and I went down to my moms ho...

Small talk is actually just showing someone you're friendly by talking to them. It's not having an actual conversation. Example. train is delayed so two bored people make a few comments. Small talk. I'm actually good at this when in the mood. Not small talk: Two friends have a discussion over coffe...

I think a number of us understand but it's hard to see people who don't even seem to want to help themselves. I find it difficult to see people in a slump who don't choose to help themselves. I probably shouldn't contribute to threads like this at all. Some people need a sharp kick to help themselv...

Its pretty pointless, I mean if I don't have anything to say and nothing intresting is being said by anyone else I see no reason to talk. What's wrong with just being quiet until you think of something intresting to say? No sense in talking about useless things just to be talking.

Ok, I've not read the entire thread as it's pretty painful reading but MR20, you seem to stop as soon as you come to a hurdle - regardless of it's size. There are many things we find harder to do than others but nobody is going to do it for us. Bathing, for example, is the easiest to take control o...

I'm sure you will do fine. It's an anxious time for everyone finding their way in their early twenties. I seriously doubt that a diagnosis of Apergers or even a doctor with his prescriptions would make your journey easier. I think a completly official diagnosis is nessisary at this point....I wont ...

I have a 13 year old son who has been very difficult for professionals to diagnosis. He is somewhere in the autistic spectrum but he is very high functioning. He has a very hard time making friends because he is uncomfortable carrying on a conversation. He drifts off into his own world where he rol...

I am perfectly aware of that, I am one of those people who can't afford health insurance of any kind...which is unfortunate because I might need to look into getting an anti-anxiety presciption. But its possible I heard wrong....I just thought if there would be a fine for not having that plan then ...

[quote="JayHun"]Hey, thanks for posting. Don't worry about the quality of your post; I thought it was a pretty good one by this forum's standards. "Just do your best" is meant to reassure, but it has the opposite effect on perfectionists. Anyway, I can relate to the public anxiety/paranoia...

Deaprtment of Rehabilitation is a department in CA that helps those with disabilities get back in the work force. And it seems that so many of you with AS seem to be Republicans. I thought those with AS were supposed to be intelligent  Also IMO "Obamacare" does not go far ENOUGH. What about "...

For the most part I am of the opinion that chemical drugs are bad for children as well. It actually bothers me that parents would rather medicate then help. I know some things need to be medicated and if I had medication for some of my problems as a kid I might have done much better in school and s...
