You don't say what the remaining behaviour is but I'd suggest as you've already managed to stop the previous one you can do it again. Can you modify it so it's not causing any physical harm? Thanks for weighing in. I know I've managed to stop one behavior, but I'm getting the distinct impression th...

Hi people. I had two main ways that I stim. Both have varying degrees of problematic consequences. I stopped the main one - which was the more unhealthy of the two on August 3rd - so, about six and a half weeks ago. Since then, my remaining stimming method is occurring right about 24/7/365. I practi...

I did a different Alexithymia profile screening as part of my ASD diagnosis. I don't remember the specific questions but they were similar to that. In my case I'd say "no, I can't find the right words". In my case I can't even find the right words for my personal understanding of emotions...

I'm getting assessed by a psychologist and she sent me home with this Perth Alexithymia Questionnaire. First, has anyone some experience with this that you might share? Second - really, I don't care if I'm the only one...and I don't care its the same for everyone... But how the <insert bad word here...

Wearing the mask everyday is very very mentally tiring. It takes MUCH! Effort. :( it gave me adrenal exhaustion after 2+ decades of uncivil service work for uncle sam. took me years to recover. Yeah after even a full solid day it takes several to recover and that's if I get adequate sleep and wind ...

But whatever! I think we should collaboratively reinvent all the questions so they actually ask what they're trying to ask! Sign me up! Who would have thunk? For the first time in my life I want to be part of a team... lol Interesting regarding the theatre meaning in the United States. I've been si...

I have found that there is no greater way to sabotage a relationship before it even starts than to look for someone when, "I need to find someone".

No matter who the object of your affections are - no matter how perfect they are, how attractive, how kind, intelligent, and all around awesome they are - they have an ex that wonders what the heck they were thinking when they started dating THAT one. All I can tell you regarding your undying esteem...

Interestingly, the RAADS-R, which is also on the site that allowed me to take the CAT-Q test, scores me at nearly double of what all the thresholds are, so it strongly urges me to get assessed 8O http://www.aspietests.org/raads/questions.php?show=86dd0bc7780808&locale=en_GB I will probably have...

The CAT-Q isn't to test for autism, but to test for how many masking and compensating behaviours someone has. I had no issues taking or understanding the quiz.

Thank you for making the distinction for me.

I have issues; of that, there is no doubt. Neurodiversity is one, but it is far from the only one. So, that results in me coming to you all to ask if you share my struggle with this or that – to see where the issue is coming from and to try and fix it using the tools from the right toolbox. Today’s ...

Being able to put on a mask for a job interview, for example, is obviously great, because at least you get the foot in the door so that the boss might consider giving you a chance. Let me ask you about this, please. So, I've done this before, of course. I can present extraordinarily well. My career...

you're sorta my aspie hero for easily snagging a mate when i don't have any real clue about doing so. Oh hell, I've done it three times. Come to think of it, I've had three heart attacks too - there might be a connection... Anyway, the old adage, 'Be careful what you wish for' springs immediately t...
