I used to be for years, but I found it really lonely after a while. I used to work and work in really fast paced technial job roles, it became my life to pursue a network/ISP career. When I got there I was absolutely miserable. I'd go home to an empty apartment in an expensive city centre, go out wi...

I've noticed with autism there's usually some social anxiety involved. The only way to get rid of it is to throw yourself into the deep end and do things you don't like so you get used to it and it'll eventually (after a few years) go away. Try to not lose your empathy though because then you'll bec...

The diagnosis helps because it gives you closure. Then you can try to figure out what you're struggling with and focus on sorting it out better. For me I found the diagnosis useful in terms of working in a call centre years and years ago, they were much easier on you. These days in the UK if you're ...

Everyone is good at something you just have to keep trying to figure out what it is.

It could be as basic as something like cooking good or being really awesome with numbers and analytical thinking.

Keep trying new things, this planet has an insane variety of stuff to try.

We have a BMW i8 newly repaired parked in our drive and normally I would be excited to go for a drive etc but for some reason I'm just not really that bothered. I think it's this covid stuff, it's really pissing me off since the country is on a full lockdown again.

Welcome. You probably have PTSD/trauma.

It's quite common with autistic people as we're basically walking targets for it. You're not alone though most people on here have experienced similar.

I'm part of a few womens domestic violence groups in the UK where you actually go to the meetings in person and provide food and support etc, I go to help my friends as they made these groups to help extremely vulnerable women as charity so we're all quite experienced with recognizing the signs. (Ob...

I feel like a bigot for 3 reasons. 1 Someone I know was going on about 'bland, white people food'. I like bland food more than spicy food. I prefer vinegar food but I'm sure she'd call that 'white people food' too. I have taste sensitivity and I am white, from a town which wasn't very multi-ethnic ...

This thread has made me want to randomly get raspberry sauce, put it all over a big glass, fill with vodka and strawberry milkshake, whipped cream on top, rainbow sprinkles and more raspberry sauce drizzled on top. I should probably look into making amazing tasting drinks. I remember when skittles v...

Sorry to hear this, I wish you the best. I think you are in actual shock right now still which is why you got rid of her stuff - make sure you're not making a rash decision by throwing everything away, you might look back in the future and wish you still had something of hers. Keep stuff like photog...

Money was invented because people would try to rip each other off by having a trade system. They need to just give everyone a living wage so no one is left for dead, the way it is now is everyone for themselves which clearly isn't working right. I absolutely cannot stand that everyone for themselves...

Cooking is really good for your mental health, especially cooking to be feeding others. Feeding and providing for others who are grateful is an excellent feeling. I agree though executive dysfunction is an absolute bastard. But when you do get in a good state of mind smashing out an epic Sunday roas...

People do this all the time, half the population is a bunch of insanely evil narcissists. People will literally attack you just because you're having a positive nice time and they aren't. I always end up having my social media accounts attacked in some way, people are mad jealous of any little thing...

I won't go out at night on my own or in a weird area by myself, I realise that this is literally putting myself into a dangerous situation therefore taking a risk with my body, especially not when 85,000 rapes in the UK go unreported. It's more logical to take a friend or partner if you really have ...
