Everything is still under investigation, information either not available or being held relatively closely to the vest. The shooting happened after the bars closed, and there had a been a rap concert in the area earlier that night, as well.

I understand it to be about getting a definitive "yes" each step of the way in an intimate encounter. You have to understand that a body may react physically in ways that scream "yes" even though a person does not want to SAY yes. Intimacy with someone you aren't already in an ex...

I think people on Wrongplanet are largely atheist because you perceive Christianity as a "religion of the superior" while you view yourself as "inferior" (due to your disability). Well, if you read John Chapter 9, I hope you will change your mind. That is one of my favorite chap...

My son's is games. Tabletop, board games, computer games, phone apps, etc. He's made his career in the field now. He also likes computer programming, but in many ways that is also a vehicle to implement his first interest. He also has been drawn to learn little bits of multiple languages. I think th...

It is the best feeling in the world to see our kids make wise choices and progress towards a future we think will be good for them. There will always be fits and starts, set backs and leaps forward, but hold onto the knowledge he's on the path. Very happy to see your post.

I hadn't considered the factor Juliette brought in, but it does make sense to me. My son is only lightly affected by his ASD, but he has always had strong associations with specific locations. Schoolwork belonged at school, for example, so homework was always a huge hurdle. In college, when he had ...

Countries should be governed in accordance with their constitutions, while also having a process for updating those constitutions when time proves it smart to do so.

I wish you lived here not only so I could get a better sense of what is really going on, but also because we have a lot of support services for autistic adults. Sigh. I don't know how to fix this.

Ultimately I feel like you and your parents communicate in entirely different languages, so to speak. I guess I can't believe a father would actually say things in the way you hear them. These threads end up making me wish I was sitting in between you two and trying to translate. If that would actua...

But maybe they are just giving you opportunities to mess up under their ever changing standards. I don't know. Just ... be sure you are making WISE choices, not just "I have a right to" choices. There is a difference. It’s considered a sin in my church to judge other Christian’s by what t...

Why would you arrest someone for being black? They don't usually think they are. They usually have some excuse, but can't put two and two together to realize the only reason they are connecting whatever excuse they think they have to this particular person is because of the person's skin col...

These things never happen in blue states. Sadly, that isn't entirely true. I'm both liberal and a blue state resident, so I'm not saying that to be political. I'm saying it because I've seen the evidence. I want to believe it happens less here, but I don't have the official stats. And, well, it isn...

Well, given the latest turn, I fully support your doing your best to swim. It's OK to fall a few times along the way; that is how you learn. Start small, build up. Best wishes for success! Trump has been willing to let his reputation be tarnished to try and do the right thing. IMHO Trump has no moral compass; he wouldn't know what the "right thing" was if it hit him in the face. He took on fake media not when it was fake, but when it exposed his lies. I watched him LIVE on ...
