Just for another perspective… I have a card for Crohn’s disease… you’re supposed to use this if you’re about to crap yourself in public. If there’s a line for the public toilet you just advance to the front, show the card and go in next. Or you can find a helpful staff member in a shop, show the car...

For a start… I’d find it difficult making eye contact with said bear and I certainly wouldn’t be able to engage it in a conversation… unless it was about my cigarette lighter collection…

Sugar does affect other people.

If a person overconsumes they will get obesity, diabetes and all kinds of other health problems. In the first instance that will affect close family members greatly. And secondly it will be a drain on the already stretched health services.

It’s bad all round.

Perhaps you could. But not necessarily. The best thing to do is get a routine checkup. I don't get in the UK why the NHS don't make routine checkups mandatory for some people. Funding, taking account of risk vs benefit. No point piling in huge amounts of money to set up a system for ailments that a...

I love Data. When anyone asks me how I am I often reply “everything is functioning within acceptable parameters”… well, they think I’m weird anyway.

From TNG… Picard is zapped by an alien probe around a desolate planet. He lives out the rest of his life on a little village on the planet, in what seems like real time to him. He learns to play a musical instrument, has a family and stuff. It turns out to be a memory implanted in his mind as a trib...

The ineptitude of the Russian military has been known for a long time.

I suspect they know that if they launch a nuclear missile, it (the missile) just might backfire and destroy Russian territory.

Erm… I wouldn’t rely on it, but I’ve also thought that…

I’ve long had a theory that “Russian military might” is just so much BS. Not so long ago the Russians’ sole aircraft carrier chugged through the English Channel… I think it was supposed to be a show of strength, but it was belching black smoke and looked like it was held together with sticky tape. P...

I don’t think I’ve ever called anyone by name in my entire life. I’ve even had comments about it… some think it shows lack of friendliness and warmth.
