Hey WrongPlanet,

Back on Thursday 5/23/2013, I received a message from YouTube stating that "my account has been suspended due to repeated or severe violations of our Terms of Use and claims of copyright infringement. Suspended accounts cannot be reinstated. Federal law requires that we terminate accounts when there are repeated claims of copyright infringement. Because you have had other videos rejected in the past, we are unable to reinstate your account. Users with suspended or terminated accounts are prohibited from creating new accounts or accessing YouTube’s community." The message goes onto state that in order to get my account reinstated, I would have to resolve at least one of the two video removals that it lists (the first one being removed due to a copyright claim and the second one being removed due to violation of the terms of use).

I am currently in the process of trying to get my account on YouTube reinstated. I sent YouTube account support an e-mail stating that I feel that my account was unfairly terminated (since the two strikes they mentioned would be the only two strikes on my account in the history of that account and that three strikes would be required before suspension of a YouTube account). I also mentioned in that e-mail that the second video they listed did not violate any community guidelines and I politely asked them to reinstate my YouTube account.

It's annoying that after being a member of the YouTube community for over 6.5 years (4.5 years of which have been spent making videos for YouTube and gaining over 420 subscribers and over 900000 video views in that time period), someone had to false-flag one of my videos I posted on there and my YouTube account got suspended because of it. Some of the videos I posted on my account were fairly popular. For example, I uploaded a "My Top Ten Eminem songs of All-Time" video on that account back in early January 2011 which had accumulated a total of 75000 video views, 200+ likes, and only 21 dislikes since I originally uploaded it onto YouTube. A comment on that video that received 7 likes stated "One of the best top ten Eminem songs lists I have seen on YouTube." So it is annoying to see my account get suspended given the feedback I have received on my videos and that that account has been active on YouTube for many years. Thus, I am fighting to get my original YouTube account. It may take a while. But hopefully, I will get my account reinstated sooner or later. If not, then at least I tried.

Has that ever happened to you? You have had an account on YouTube for a very long time, developing a good rep on YouTube with the videos you have posted onto that account, only to have someone false-flag one of your videos and get your account on YouTube suspended because of it?

I've uploaded a whole movie to Youtube and they didn't suspend me. You just have to use a coder's browser and find the HTML root coding. Send it to them and show them the flagging stats.

techtalknow,

How do I show the YouTube Team the flagging stats of a video?
