Request to have no gender on profile

I understand that Alex might never get around to this.

"Gender" is currently a mandatory field. I don't want it on my profile at all, but I can't unselect what I selected when I registered. So I'm suggesting that it be made not mandatory.

Maybe there should be a "Sex" profile field for people who want to identify their sex.

When I created my account I skipped the "gender" field and it doesn't show up under my profile pic, so it's not really mandatory, although I think it says it is when creating an account which would be misleading.

I rather have my gender revealed, so that people can know which answers to offer when replying to my posts (even a feminine username doesn't necessarily specify one's gender, although my username isn't feminine). When replying to people's posts, the responses you give can make a difference if you know the gender of the person. This also includes age and nationality too. It saves you from having to keep revealing your info in your posts or other posters having to keep asking.

I think a lot of use are getting fed up of assumptions being made about us based on the genitals we inherited.

Yes, I think an “agender” option would be good along with other nonbinary identities. That being said, aside from transphobes I don’t really think anyone would want to identify their sex but not their gender. If you’re cisgender then you could give your sex as your gender.
