I was simply saying the Democrats thought Trumps 1st election was fraudulent. You know, The Russians being involved.

Well I am not a democrat, and I thought the implication was more that they meddled not that the end results were fake. IDK I was a lot more concerned with the damage Trump was doing to the environment during that whole thing.

I'd say I lean more socialist, and so even the democrats are too centristic for me. I still voted democrat in the election but yeah kind of one of those lesser evil things I suppose.

That said I don't disagree that it is indeed comedy central material.

But why should we have to go extinct in the first place? The environmental crisis could be alleviated. Also, we aren't the only animals on this planet.

Because mankind's own greed will be it's demise.

I'll take the bet on mankind surviving. Unfortunately I won't be alive in 100 years to collect (barring a major medical breakthrough)

These are predictions I have been hearing since childhood (about 50 to 60 years ago):

By the Year 2000...

... Air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half.

... Civilization will end by unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.

... Eating will no longer be necessary, as food will be replaced by pills.

... Every family will have at least one personal flying jet-pack, and at least one flying car.

... Hand-held laser pistols will replace projectile weapons (guns).

... High-speed monorail system will link all major cities in the U.S.

... Humanity will completely run out of copper, lead, zinc, tin, gold, and silver.

... Permanent human settlements will be established on the moon.

... Poverty and homelessness will be eliminated.

... The world will be eleven degrees colder, which is about twice what it takes to put us into an ice age.

... Urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution.

... We will be using up crude oil at such a rate that there won’t be any more crude oil left.

... We will have controlled nuclear fusion, with individual fusion-electric generators in every home.

I had a long post queued up, WP sent me through recaptcha and for some reason no matter how many boats I correctly identify that results in the post being lost. This is going to end up being the cliff notes version and unfortunately not nearly as good.

Basically, I've witnessed a disturbing tend of politicization and polarization in this country. On one side we have Trump's cult of personality. On the other side we have the cult of righteousness. Because I work in academia in a very blue state I have far more experience dealing with the left than the right. I been on the receiving end of social punishment for daring to express an opinion counter to left wing dogma. I have no illusions that people on the right are any better. I think if I lived in Trump dominated country I'd be called a SJW communist, instead of a racist fascist.

That's the real problem. People seem much more concerned with shouting over each other than talking to each other. Each side is under the illusion it can win. 70 million people voted for each presidential candidate, no side is steamrolling the other. Yet that seems to be the prevailing politcal strategy. I've seen first hand how bubbletastic segments of society can be. I don't know any Trump supporters, and most people in my orbit think Biden is too right wing. Say what you will about the WP PPR forum, but it isn't an echo chamber. We have a diverse collection of characters willing to at least talk at and occasionally even to each other.

Youtube has the right to police their own content however they want. I'm not arguing against that. However, I see this move as a continuation in the trend of censoring speech you disagree with instead of arguing against it. I truly believe the solution to speech you don't like is more speech not censorship.

I don't want a competing platform that's a safe haven for Trump supporters as that would just exacerbate the problem. I don't even want a competing platform that is committed to freedom of expression. What I want is for us as a society to decide that freedom of expression matters and that arguing about politics is ok. I would hope a major media platform like youtube would be in sync with that.

I won't stop using youtube. I don't watch anything political on youtube instead using it for music, chess, and d&d videos so this has 0 impact on my personal experience. And I agree that people making videos disputing the election results are part of the problem. I just don't think taking down their videos is the right thing to do.

By and large the same people peddling QAnon bs are the same people peddling StopTheSteal bs. Maybe it's all a conspiracy by the elite to undermine American democracy but it's more likely the conspiracy nutters are the ones attempting to undermine American democracy and steal the election.




Got a credible source for that claim? Rudy Giuliani doesn't count.
Also, Trump has faced credible allegations of raping a 13 year old girl in 1994 named Katie Johnson.



Saying there are pedophiles in Hollywood isn't the same as insisting the elite are all part of pedophile ring that harvests children's bodily fluids and organs after engaging ritual sacrifices to Satan and that only Donald Trump can stop them.

If 95% of what they claim is BS and only a few of the most basic details have any truth to them they're not actually intentionally reporting the truth.
