MILLCREEK, Utah (KUTV) — The real estate market is so hot right now that a $575,000 listing, known to be contaminated with methamphetamine, had no problem finding a buyer, according to the listing agent.

Forget the meth, I wouldn't live in Utah for any price. Utah on Crack (aka Idaho) is another hard pass.

It not the house’s fault that its inhabitants were meth-heads.

Just get rid of the meth labs, and fix whatever damage the previous inhabitants caused, so that it becomes a viable house again.

The price is pretty expensive for Utah.

The Salt Lake City area is not like the rest of Utah. It voted for Biden in 2020.

I believe the point of the article is how outrageously costly housing is these days. Like the worst house in town is $575,000. And that's in Utah, where one wouldn't expect a dump to have $575,000 price tag. Not California, Utah. I suppose in Cali it would go for $1.5 million.

You can still get a house in most of Texas for under $200,000.

The Salt Lake area is like any large urban area. Housing prices are inflated in most of these sorts of areas.

Oh okay then there's no high cost of housing issue.

Of course there is.

Most people can't come up with a 10% downpayment for a $200,000 house.

Housing prices have certainly gone up.....some places more than others. Like I said, $575,000 is very high for Utah----but that can be attributed to it being in the Salt Lake City area.

Oh it seemed like you were arguing against a meth lab shack going for $575,000 being a problem, because you can get a house for $200k in some remote area.

A mansion can be "meth-contaminated." I didn't assume that the house they were referring to was a "shack."

If anybody wants to spend $575,000 for that shack......be my guest!

It is hardly a shack, Kortie.  Read the article and look up the listing.

Looks pretty “shacky” to me….and don’t roll your eyes at me!

But then I saw the rest of the house….I wonder what the interior is like….

I still wouldn’t pay $575,000—even if it was in pristine condition.

Looks like a "fixer upper" at the very least. Meth addicts are not famous for doing upkeep, on either their own health, nor that of their property.

I really wasn't expecting the point of the article to be totally lost on everyone. Last article I ever post here.

What’s the point, then?

Educate us.

If I feel like people aren’t getting the “point,” I wouldn’t get all perturbed. I would try to educate.
