Just heard on MSNBC that there is question whether the shooter is actually non-binary. On the contrary, he has a history of homophobia, including membership in an Anti-LGBTQ online group, membership in the Mormon faith (which is notoriously homophobic), and was infamous among his neighbors for his use of homophobic slurs.

This is new? Before the whole Anti-LGBTQ had an audience it was common psychology to suspect that being homophobic was a hallmark of people who had homosexual urges, but hated that within themselves. So, they turned the self-loathing onto others who openly embraced their sexual identity.

This guy is everything he hates. And he's going away for a long time.

Probably not... more's the pity.
Does Colorado have the death penalty?

Man the politicking is particularly disgusting on this one, everyone trying to pin the shooter on their political opponents, to say nothing of it suddenly being okay to question someone's gender identification when that was previously completely taboo to the people now doing it.

Anderson Aldrich, mom caught on video using racist slurs at airport

Quote:
A disturbing video has emerged of alleged Colorado LGBTQ nightclub shooter Anderson Lee Aldrich and his mother spewing racist slurs at fellow passengers after a flight to Denver in July.

Frontier Airlines passenger Maria Martinez captured cellphone footage of Aldrich and their mother, Laura Voepel, during the heated confrontation at the terminal on July 31, KDVR reported.

The clip posted by the station begins with Martinez asking Voepel about a racial slur aimed at Mexicans.

“What makes me a b—-r?” she is heard asking.

“Shut up!” Voepel snaps back.

“What makes me a b—-r?” Martinez asks again.

As she continues to follow the pair, a person believed to be Aldrich tells her, “You keep following me and I’m going to f— you up.”

Even though the overweight person was wearing a mask, Martinez and her daughter Kayla Martinez said they now recognize the person as the nonbinary suspect in the deadly mass shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs.

Tanya De La O, a friend who was traveling with the Martinezes that day, claimed Voepel began using racist language immediately upon landing.

“I was having a hard time getting my luggage down (from the overhead bin), and all of a sudden, I just hear this woman say, ‘Hurry the f— up, you b—-r!’ And then I turned around and said, ‘Excuse me?’” she told KDVR

She told the outlet that a black man tried to intervene to de-escalate the situation but that Aldrich hurled a racist slur at him.

“He also told him to ‘shut the f— up, you f—- n—–,’” De La O told the station.

De La O said she also remembers a chilling comment Aldrich made while getting off the plane.

I wish I can shoot all of you right now,” she said they muttered.

I believe the anti Mexican slur that was dashed out is beaner.

Colorado shooting suspect Anderson Aldrich’s father posted bizarre videos of him being kicked in the nuts
Quote:
Videos show the troubled father of Colorado nightclub shooting suspect Anderson Aldrich claiming supplements made him impervious to repeated kicks to his groin.

Entitled “Ouch my Balls,” the mini-series presents former MMA fighter and porn actor Aaron Brink shrugging off eye-watering blows thanks to Stevia sugar substitute and a substance called Arginine.

In another peculiar clip, Brink appears to hawk the services of a local lawyer by again inviting brutal boots to his testicles from an unidentified woman on the side of a rustic road, with the kicks so hard, Brink’s feet are lifted off the ground. The strange videos also proved popular, with one racking up 7,500 views and another reaching 11,000.

Focus on the Family headquarters sign vandalized in wake of Club Q shooting
Quote:
Vandals defaced a sign outside a local Christian ministry Thursday, accusing the organization of complicity in the horrific massacre at an LGBTQ+ nightclub.

“Their blood is on your hands. Five lives taken,” reads the graffiti on the brick Focus on the Family sign, which outside its facility off Briargate Parkway in north Colorado Springs.

Police told 11 News partner The Gazette that the statement was spray-painted at some point during the wee hours of Thursday morning. Following the incident, someone tried to conceal the graffiti with a tarp and cardboard, but as of Friday the tarp had fallen off, leaving much of the wording visible.

Focus on the Family is an evangelical organization founded in California in 1977. Its headquarters have been in Colorado Springs since 1991. The organization states on its website that it believes marriage is between a man and a woman, and in 2014 spoke out against adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression to non-discrimination laws, citing concerns about conflicts with religious liberties.

Immediately following the shooting, Focus on the Family President Jim Daly told 11 News sister station CBS Denver that he mourned the tragedy and that the organization wanted to make it clear it stands against hate.

Whether the shooter did it to get revenge on people they blamed for making them non binary or he did it as a false flag calling himself non binary to make the LBGQT people look bad or whatever this was not stochastic terrorism, the progressive weaponized word of the moment. Aldrich did not do this based on what some preacher, talk show host, or politician said. This is a family of lunatics. Dysfunctional somehow does not seem adequate.

It should also be noted that Colorado Springs is a major Evangelical stronghold.

No, it is okay to question gender identity when someone suddenly decides they are non-binary after being charged with a mass shooting. From various reports its sounds like he did not identify that way before the charges, which makes it a little questionable.

I'd think the same thing even if they were one of the lefty wackos.

That said I don't know why some people are trying so hard to declare it wasn't a hate crime if the shooter is in fact non-binary. Apparently according to legal experts even if he is non-binary it could still be classified as a hate crime because he still did it out of hate for the LGBTQ community even if there was also self hate involved.

Earliest reports in my State about this definitely did not mention him as non binary till a week afterwards .
And my city shares common news sources and networks with Boulder news stations .

You've got it backwards, AFAIK no motive is known yet, but the entire media apparatus sprung into action to preemptively declare it a hate crime for maximum political impact, before the shooter's gender identity complicated that for them. You should be mad at the people trying to leverage this tragedy for base politics rather than the skeptics, but that would require some self awareness and critical thinking.

The original police report did not mention non binary identity, it was the shooters lawyer who mentioned it a day later.

The shooter is not talking. The shooter had little to no social media presence. In our selfie age this behavior is such an outlier narrative builders and others don’t know how to handle it.

Well, if looks are an indicator of anything and I believe they are, as it is fairly easy for me to recognize non-binary individuals now. I couldn't always do that. But, the guy looks 'something.' He does not look particularly masculine, he does not look particularly feminine. He looks sort of cherubic.

The guy's fat, so he's going to look cherubic. I'm not convinced somebody can just look at someone and judge their sexual identity.

He's more than fat. He has no distinguishing characteristics to suggest embracing masculinity. And he does nothing to make himself appear more male. His hair is nondescript, he's trying to appear younger than his stated age. Guys that age who are typical males are attempting to do something with their appearance to seem like a grown man. Not this guy...

The guy's a gun nut. In certain company that's the definition of manliness. And what about his appearance? He looks like just a regular guy to me.

His mother in this article says he had threatened her with not just a bomb, but with his multiple weapons and ammo. I have to assume if he has ammunition, his weapons include more than just knives and batons.
https://www.the-sun.com/news/6721578/an ... ay-club-2/

And no, I'm not saying every gun enthusiast and collector is a gun nut. But a guy with a bunch of guns that he includes in his paranoid fantasies clearly is. The fact that gun enthusiasts around the country don't recognize a difference, and take the term "gun nut" as a personal slur, aren't helping.
