If people have nothing better to do, than look at your clothes, they have major problems. Don't take it personally.

"I base my fashion taste on what doesn't itch."

~Gilda Radner~

That about sums it up for me.

I hate it when people nitpick about what someone's wearing. :( The only thing that should matter is that you feel good in it, and YOU like it...and of course washing it so that you don't smell like you slept under a bridge for a week. :eew:

Fisherman's smocks are the next big thing, watch this space. Have your tried modifying your clothes? My sister said some hush puppies I bought were a bit gay coloured, so I'm making them even more ghey by putting a design on them :D I'm quite pleased with the results so far. I'm getting a smock so I can put another design on that. I always found them comfy, since when I used to wear them for art at school. The one I’m getting one is hand made from quality sail cloth/canvas.

I have a feeling I might start trends.

In my freshman year, I wore a lot of animal print, and all the snotty girls said "ewwww only hookers wear animal print!"

The next year, animal print was on EVERYTHING.

Apollyon is just ahead of her time.

Let's all not wear clothes!! :D

I second this! :D

clothes are a waste of time...we were not born with them...so why wear them???
It's not natural

I third this!

Just dress the way you like. Stop caring what people think or say. Obviously whoever has a comment has good enough taste to notice you.

Tell them to shove their heads where the sun doesn't shine.

My two favorite responses when people comment on what I'm wearing:

1. I'm comfortable.

2. I'm not dressed up to go anywhere. Would you prefer I wear my pajamas in your presence?

I dress to please myself, and nobody else. :O)

I only wear jeans and t-shirts and people are always comlimenting me on how nice I dress.

I guess it's just the brands or something and how they fit.

Haha, people think I'm weird because I'm always wearing a knee-length black coat and a black cabbie hat.
And you should just say to them what you think: "That's not your business." "What's it to you?" etc. etc.
I agree, next time they bother you, ask them "Why do you care so much?" and then look at them like they've just said something incredibly stupid.

I'm more or less Dr House as regards how I dress. Jeans, tshirt, rumple shirt thrown over it then a big dark overcoat in the winter and a blazer in the summer.

people came to me once, and asked why I was wearing the clothes I wear, and I simply told them this:

The right clothes are my clothes. they are not attractive at all. What do you think I am, a flower? I don't need to attract people with my clothes, my personality gets me all the friends I need and besides, if someone talks to me only because my clothes look good then I don't like that person and I'd rather avoid a conversation with him.

Their mouths dropped (they were two girls, the kind that lives for other people's affection) and I just laughed

Whenever I leave the house, I am wearing a solid-colored shirt, black pants, and black shoes. I go to church in that. I go to work in that. I go to stores in that. Whenever people complain about my clothes, I normally say, "These clothes meet the work dress code, and they're covering everything they're supposed to cover. That is all I have ever asked of my clothes."
