skin picking seems to be a common stimming method, i do it. it really has gotten the ire of my parents ever since it has become too glaring to ignore.

right forearm exclusively. the little splotches the scars leave turn purple when my skin is especially dry. looks almost alien in a way.

Yep, my thumb looks a bit alien too! It has a big calloused area due to the years of picking. I get embarrassed about people seeing it even when it's healed a bit between "heightened picking alerts"!

my left thumb has a tiny scar on it from when i accidentally sliced it with scissors when i was, like, 8.

the right has recovered from being smashed by an orange traffic pole earlier this year.

Rubbing the dry, rough skin area of my knuckles against my lips. Feels really good.

Like I'm playing a high hat cymbal with my left foot - at the mention of which my right foot starts a bass drum pedal motion and my inner wailing wall rocking stays away but flinches about. Common sense of invisible post it notes stuck to my face.

I've had a glass of wine, which makes my stimming more "flat" I guess. I'm rolling specific words through my head at a pretty slow pace for me, nodding it up and down very minimally, and scratching it in a massage-like fashion for maybe about 10 seconds every minute.

Every time I see this thread I get intense stim cravings.

Bouncing legs in butterfly position. Rubbing foot soles together. Licking back of lower teeth.

I don't realise I'm stimming until I she this thread, the left lower leg is swinging while I'm sitting across my other leg and my spinner ring is having a workout between posts.

Shaking my foot left to right. When I was doing this in school a week ago, the girl sitting next to me asked if I was hyper.

Do these count? I'm still learning about this stuff and would appreciate a solid answer.

I am constantly stroking my beard and mustache.

I have a thing where I have to do a ritualized thing with how I stroke my fingernails.
I also have a thing where I constantly rub my thumbnails and my thumbs on my forefingers.

If I stand, I almost always have my hands in my pockets. I've always been self conscience over my hands. I also drum my hands on my thighs a lot, hence forth the pockets.

When on the phone, I pace. Like a fiend. And, it's a ritualized pattern that I follow on the tiles in the floor to navigate the space.

When I get lost in thought, I found I rock while standing. Sometimes even have a bit of a swing added in. Depends on how agitated or stoked I am. I guess that has to do with adrenaline and energy levels being amped. If I am at my computer watching an online TV show, I rock back and forth in my chair and swivel it back and forth.

Heh, me too. And I move on the tiles like the knight in chess.

Just one thing to keep in mind about this thread: It's about what you are doing while you are writing, or a few minutes to hours in the past. It's meant to be a "stim-update" of sorts. "Right now I'm stimming by doing x". :P

Well, if you go back about an hour or 2, I have done almost all of the things I described.

On the phone to family making the Thansgiving call: Pacing
Always stroking the beard...ALWAYS....but also fidgety with the fingers.
Stood outside to have a cigarette and that is usually when I rock on my feet. I just get lost in thought most times.

Eating shitloads of cherries.
Could that be considered stimming?
It's rolling the seed around the tongue that's doing it for me.

Biting my fingers (not fingernails) while muttering things under my breath.

Unwinding from a ridiculously hectic weekend chomping on my favourite binky and also bouncing up and down with a little flapping when something excites me as I watch FilmOn Wrestling channels.
