To a ground floor flat that's more suited to my physical needs. All the flats in the area are for those 55+. My (s) daughter has done a 1st rate job getting it for me, and is doing an equally good job getting things moved to the new flat. My granddaughters have been a big help too.

This has been a good flat, but it's no longer fit for purpose.Physically it feels like I've taken a step or two backwards recently . Have had to go back to using the walking frame as my left hip etc has been hurting somewhat when walking independently. (S) daughter has said it's because of my posture, and that my posture is much better when using the frame

Is it a better flat than before with its modern comforts?

I'm not giving the link but this what it says-

Quote:
is the conversion of an existing two storey building into 16no. one-bedroom flats for over 55’s living. The building has been extensively adapted and reconfigured to suit the new use, including the removal of existing load bearing internal walls and the upgrading of the existing building fabric to meet current building regulations.

I moved into the new ground floor flat on Saturday morning. Was supposed to have internet yesterday, but BT didn't do what was needed. Finally managed to use a hotspot. The place is smaller, but an ample size for me- it has kitchen diner, bedroom, bathroom with walk in shower. I'm able to stand just outside my back door. Beyond that.there's a long strip of grass, which is too uneven for me to stand on. It might sound silly but to be able to stand just outside after such a long time indoors is wonderful.

Congratulations, firemonkey!
What a remarkable achievement.
I wish you all the best in your lovely new abode.

You're very lucky to have her.
When I get home I'm moving all the contents from my apartment to my house, alone.
It's exhausting, and an 8 hour drive (multiple trips required).
I have to empty it by the end of the month.

Sounds like a wonderful move , access to fresh air and to see green!!
I’d gift you a bird feeder for outside the window if I could.
I would also send elves to do all Isabella’s packing and moving.

Now (s) daughter and granddaughters will be able to take me out. Have had to use walking frame more as was getting more and more pain,on the left side, where hip replacement was done, when walking independently. (S) daughter has said it's because I've been overdoing the independent walking, and need to use the frame more.

I’m worried that is what mine will do.
She will want to get out and walk her dog too soon.
Listen to your family’s advice.
