Hello there!

I am conducting another survey to determine if there is a difference in terms of overall GAF scores based on six different diagnostic groups (all of which were made prior to the DSM-V where Asperger's is dropped altogether): [1] Non-NT: Asperger's & Non-ASD(i.e. those with a diagnosis of Asperger's as well as a co-morbid of another mental disorder like ADHD or schizophrenia belong in this group) [2] Non-NT: Autism/PDD-NOS & Non-ASD [3] Non-NT: ASD - Asperger's only [4] Non-NT: ASD - Autism/PDD-NOS only [5] Non-NT: Non-ASD only (i.e. ADHD, schizophrenia) [6] NT (no past clinical diagnoses of any mental disorder). Once again, participation in the poll (as well as the survey) are 100% voluntary. So don't feel obligated to answer the survey questions or answer the poll if you don't feel comfortable with doing so.

I am also determining if either being diagnosed at an earlier age with any kind of mental disorder as well as time past since an original diagnosis will give those diagnosed more time to seek treatment for their diagnoses (if their diagnoses causes significant problems in their daily lives) will show more improvement in terms of GAF scores.

GAF scores are defined here in this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Ass ... unctioning . Use that to determine your overall GAF score or just give your most recent GAF score as determined by a clinician.

For the poll, M.D. = mental disorder. Also, for the poll, use your most recent GAF score.

Now that's out of the way, here are the survey questions:

[1] Diagnosis group (as defined in the first paragraph of this post)

(only answer the following questions if previously diagnosed with an ASD)
[2] Age at time of ASD diagnosis
[3] GAF score at time of original diagnosis (if applicable)
[4] Number of years past since original diagnosis.

(only answer the following questions if previously diagnosed with an non-ASD mental disorder)
[5] Age at time of non-ASD mental disorder diagnosis
[6] GAF score at time of original diagnosis (if applicable)
[7] Number of years past since original diagnosis.

[8] Most recent GAF score (must be within the last few years)

I am actually somewhere between 31-40. I have high-functioning classic autism, also anxiety (which doesn't impact me nearly as much) and depression (which has been under control for awhile now with medication)

[1] Diagnosis group (as defined in the first paragraph of this post)

see above

[2] Age at time of ASD diagnosis

26 and then again at 27

[3] GAF score at time of original diagnosis (if applicable)

n/a. I gave myself the score now based on what I know I am capable of now.

[4] Number of years past since original diagnosis.

2

[5] Age at time of non-ASD mental disorder diagnosis

childhood sometime, definitely reconfirmed at age 19

[6] GAF score at time of original diagnosis (if applicable)

n/a

[7] Number of years past since original diagnosis.

not sure

[8] Most recent GAF score (must be within the last few years)

31-40

[1] Diagnosis group: Asperger's only (My previous non-ASD diagnosis was incorrect)
[2] Age at time of ASD diagnosis: 46
[3] GAF score at time of original diagnosis: 55
[4] Number of years past since original diagnosis: 3
[5] Age at time of non-ASD mental disorder diagnosis: 29
[6] GAF score at time of original diagnosis: 55
[7] Number of years past since original diagnosis: 20

In any case, I am no longer receiving any form of mental health care, (no counseling, medications, although I might need to start again, as I've ben having some anxiety issues lately), so my GAF scores are from memory and/or personal estimation.

[1] Diagnosis group (as defined in the first paragraph of this post)

Asperger's diagnosis + severe sensory processing disorder diagnosed. Looking at the possibility of dysthymia, but that's undiagnosed and uncertain.

[2] Age at time of ASD diagnosis

Identified at age 13, officially diagnosed at age 22. (Had been identified by someone who couldn't do the official diagnosis)

[3] GAF score at time of original diagnosis

N/A

[4] Number of years past since original diagnosis.

10-ish or 1.5-ish depending on definition

[5] Age at time of non-ASD mental disorder diagnosis (SPD)

23

[6] GAF score at time of original diagnosis

N/A

[7] Number of years past since original diagnosis.

6 months

[8] Most recent GAF score (must be within the last few years)

31-50 is really my range for the past few years.

1. DX: Aspergers/ADHD

2. 26

3. At the time of DX, GAF was 60. Now, it's 65. Woohoo.

4. 3
