When I was younger, I ate very slowly, taking over an hour to finish a meal. Looking back, I think this might have been because I was full, but I didn't know what hungry and full felt like at the time, so my parents just kept stuffing me with food. My parents say I would chew my food for a long time. Also, when I ate by myself, I would always spill something (usually rice) when getting the food from the spoon to my mouth. When there was still naptime, I would be finishing my lunch instead of napping, not that I took naps anyway. My teacher actually put spicy stuff in my food because the theory is: if it's spicy, then you'll shove a bunch of (non-spicy) rice into your mouth and swallow as fast as you can. (I was in China when I was younger, so rice is served typically at every meal.) I ended up spitting it out.

I eat faster now, but I'm still one of the last ones to finish, though on time.

I eat way too fast as well, and I never sit down while eating.

I used to eat way too fast. But I have slowed down considerably. The last time I had dinner at my brother's I started before his roommate and way before he did and I was still eating long after they both left the table.

I eat slowly (but not too slowly) and take small bites most of the time.

I was a voracious eater as a kid, but like you said, when I was full I would slow down.
I was always too small though, and my stomach filled quickly.
When I was too young to make food myself, the wait between meals could be torture. I took to hiding loaves of bread in my room, so that I could eat whenever I wanted. My parents were like "Why do you hide food if you didn't finish your dinner!!??"

I guess I've always been a grazer.
...is that sort of like what you were describing?

I tend to eat pretty slowly, like people have made the odd comment about how slowly I eat. I move slowly too.

I eat very slowly which is annoying when eating out. Others seem to inhale their food and I haven't even eaten half. Lots of doggie bags. I think it may be because of my stomach issues though. If I can get it fixed, I may turn into a food-inhaler too.

I'm a slow eater 95% of the time (sometimes to the point others get impatient waiting for me to finish).

I still eat slowly. I mean, I CAN scarf things down if I want to, but usually I don't.

No, I am a pretty fast eater. I am High-Functioning, after all.

What does being high-functioning have to do with it?

^Probably nothing, but it was meant as a sort of a play on words.

I still eat slow most of the time. It doesn't help that my attention goes on my computer.
