I could try and organise a free thing (Autscape is outrageously expensive) in or around Birmingham but I would need ideas for venue etc as I don't live in the area. Any suggestions?

I will make a new topic on it if enough people show interest, so please do let me know either in this topic or by PM your thoughts. Let's do this

Don't really want to do a paid thing to be honest as I have no money... Would only have money to buy drinks and such...
A venue... Hmm...

Millenium Point

Art Gallery

A few bars and pubs?

I wouldn't really want to do anything that costs loads of money either. I'm pretty skint.

Millennium Point could be a good one. It sounds like the sort of place a lot of Aspies would really enjoy. An art gallery could also work.
Keep 'em coming, fellow Brits!

Millenium Point

And

the art gallery are both free as far as I know...

As for a quiet bar or pub... drinks around here are quite cheap... or maybe a place for a meal?

Past Birmingham meetups have been in the city centre.
If people don't mind travelling outside that a bit, then the MAC is a good place. It has a park, a couple of cafes, and a cheap nature centre near by.

Yes: http://asannewengland.blogspot.com/
Appreciate your effort in getting the info.
but looking at the link, blog appears to have been abandoned 2 years ago,
so I don't know what's become of them.

There's the Asperger Assoc. of New England,
but they haven't much presence in Vermont (where I am), they're Mass-based.

It's free, and I'd love to see you at our meetups! :)

EDIT: I've also created a thread for our meetup group: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt241778.html
