I am sorry I really mean it, I myself have noticed a few women being mistreated on WP due to misogyny of male members of WP and myself included I have cracked jokes in the past but failed to realize it has hurt some women's feelings out of being immature. A lot of it has to do with bad experiences with women in the past and I think we are taking it all out on the wrong women for sure and most of the women here have had the same problems with men as well but want to connect and we guys are ruining it with the immature and ignorant assumptions based on just a few bad past experiences and need to realize we shouldn't take it out on them and also hold back on the sexist jokes as well because women are human beings and have feelings and emotions like we guys do and we need to realize that! We also need to realize if it weren't for women we guys wouldn't exist and we wouldn't have mothers, sisters daughters girlfriends wives etc. I don't want more female members quitting I want this place to be a safe and wonderful place for both us men and women, so I extend my most sincere apology on behalf of all us men here.

An apology on behalf of all men here? The Squid is a man, and hasn't once said anything slanderous or inappropriate to a female member on this forum. o.O

:-) dont know exactly who you are apologizing to in the exact, but either way, a man able to apologize (many men cant seem to do it at all because of ego or their pride) but a man able to apologize anyway that's a real man. *applause for you* :-)

Very noble and honourable but massively patronising towards women don't you think? (and insulting to us blokes, you can't apologise on my behalf by the way as I am not sorry, I fail to see how I have upset women on here)

As a man sometimes a man has to swallow his pride and man up and admit his mistakes! Also I have a big heart I care a whole lot and it hurts my heart much knowing women are being hurt and I felt I had to speak up for once about it!

Noble maybe massive patronizing I dont think so recently a lot of women are complaining about being ignored and mistreated on WP and not enough moderation against misogyny is being enforced and even I have noticed this, and a few female WP members are planning on quitting over it and I dont want to see more valuable people leave regardless of them being male or female. This site is a safe haven for everyone both on and off the spectrum.

But...but ....hugs can be seen as sexual harassment AspieOtaku!! Don't hug!

Do you know that in French, the verb "embrasser" just like a or decade or two ago was used to mean "to hug" but now means "to kiss"? and the verb "baiser" which was used to mean "To kiss" (romantically) now means "To f***". What a crazy world is becoming, I hope the verb hug doesn't change to something like that with time.

 I know your being silly Boo but I am trying to be sincere I don't want other members to feel unwelcome or hurt anymore! No body has apologized yet and it has gotten to me and I felt I had to in order to try and make things right! I am pretty sure if it was the other way around and we men were being mistreated and a woman that cared and noticed it she would speak up for once! we are all human we all have emotions and need to respect one another and remember not everyone has the same humor. Heaven forbid im being sincere and caring and not in some random carefree hyperactive joking mode for once perhaps its a paradox indeed because its rare I get this way! I just felt compelled to do something and nobody else has yet and I want to do the right thing for once.

The Squid does not quite understand. If you have offended someone, why not give them an apology as a person, not as a woman? How does their mistreatment, and their being female gender have anything to do with it? I've watched threads where men will verbally gut each other. They don't apologize by saying "I'm sorry I have offended you, and since you're a guy, that is not fair." Gender should not play a role in who gets an apology, or why. Treat others as a human being, not as a gendered entity.

Its just not me but other male members of WP who have and sometimes a simple apology doesn't work right away because a simple im sorry followed by a few sexist jokes over times makes that apology pointless and a lot of the female members are having it up to here with it! I am at least trying to make an effort to try and make things right and show that at least some of us guys care. You might not have offended any women here so your good to go you are also living proof most of us fellows don't hate women.

He's feeling guilty about his past jokes/generalizations/bitter posts and he doesn't want to be associated with the maniac shooter.

Tell that to The Squid, and he might understand.

Long live The Squid! Long live The Squid!

We can somewhat see where you're coming from, but we also feel that a generalized apology from one man won't make up for the sexism presented by others. And declaring it's on behalf of all men does not make it true. We commend your effort, but unless others step forward and make their own apology, the women on these forums are no more safe from these negative environments.

P.S. To the Face of Boo. Indeed, The squid has been considering obtaining a "Head Jar" too. They are all the rage here.
