That is a good one. I remember seeing that when I was younger in theaters.

When I previously watched The Monolith Monsters [1957] it was by myself but, as I watched it, I thought it might be a 50's Sci-Fi film my bride would be OK with. (Typically, she does not like to watch them.)

Last night I finally tested my hypothesis. We watched it together.

She thought it was "good"! :)

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). I first saw this in a theater as a little kid. I'm surprised I was able to get though it, because it's a very tedious movie. It's about 40% story and 60% visuals. And the visuals are breathtaking for 1968. But there's not much of an actual story.

Monolith found on Moon. Monolith sends signal to Jupiter. A spaceship is sent to Jupiter to investigate. The onboard AI computer goes crazy and kills 4 out of 5 people. The survivor disables the computer. He then travels through an acid trip "star gate" and ends up in a hotel room. Then he dies of old age and turns into a cosmic embryo floating through space. The end.

The last movie I watched was Spiderman: No Way Home. In theaters on opening day, no less. Definitely worth the potential Covid exposure. The audience reactions were amazing!

We saw this too.
It was my first time in a cinema in years, and my first IMAX movie.
I liked it, but didn't find it scary.
My partner was more freaked than I was.
