Too much fuss is being made over the opinions of one North Korean defector.
Maybe they're not used to people outside of the movement agreeing so they're just really excited to finally have a real world person they didn't pay agree with them?
Could be ... maybe that she is also pretty ("Let's pay the pretty girl some attention!") may also be relevant.  Would people pay as much attention if she was a gnarly old man instead?  I gotta wonder...

Do people need to be paid to speak out against Marxism? Where can I get that job?

Anything that offends conservatives is Marxism these days.

Now I'm a conservative because I call out Marxism and a North Korean must be receiving $$ to do the same. LMAO! Thanks for another chuckle.

This isn't Marxism though, not that the self-righteous are ever concerned about reality.

The effort to redefine Marxism as something wonderful has been underway for a long time. I prefer to stick to original definitions and to study all of its historical failures.

How an -ism is defined is largely down to what is rhetorically convenient for whoever is defining it.

Marxism's definition is too strong a point of contention for me to have interest in the tug-of-war over what exactly it means.

Marxism also has different definitions depending on context and what aspect of Marxism you're discussing--but this goes for just about any -ism.

I don't dismiss Marxism/socialism just because of ppl like Kim and Mao for the same reason most of us don't dismiss democracy because of ppl like Robespierre.

I'm not redefining Marxism as anything, I'm pointing out that Marx never said s**t about gender identity so only a dishonest person would try to pretend this has anything to do with Marxism.

Gender identity? I didn't say anything about it.

No, the North Korean lady who was interviewed did; I just assumed that everyone posting was familiar with the OP before commenting.

I assumed if you were going to attack me with something that it would be for something I said. I won't make that assumption again.

With that said, modern Marxism attempts to replace socio-economic class with the intersection of race, religion, gender and sexual orientation and attempts to create equity across those intersectional groups. It's more generally called "Social Justice" today and not Marxism or Socialism. Marxism clearly has a negative connotation that modern Marxists (Social Justice Warriors) are understandably keen to avoid.

Whenever the word "Marxism" is used in social media, modern Marxists out themselves by jumping all over it. Kind of like Pavlov's dog. I find it humorous.

From what I've seen most of the people you've labelled Marxists over the years weren't.
They were just people you disagreed with.

Social Justice Warriors label themselves as Marxists by definition. That's not from me.
